The cipher? A blurred picture of Vigenère and a picture of an abbey, and Squalor is supposed to be in Westminster abbey.

BTW the source on the end is near has Save Him in the alt image tag.

I think we have to look somewhere for a blog ad.

we had to save them and then open them in other software (I was using AutoCAD, Adam was using some shareware off the net).

when you made them transparent, and then placed the corresponding images over each other (1 & a, 2 & b, 3 & c, etc.) you would see characters that lead us to the "abbey of dead monks" + .htm ...

awesome. just friggin awesome.

When I save the bottom image on the dead monks page it shows up blank, when I select all on the page it shows blank (blue) in IE, in Firefox it shows a man (blue).

After it's saved though I can open it in notepad and see that there is something there. I don't understand, although it is probably a moot point whereas I can see the hidden image with Firefox. Does anyone know why the image can't be seen after it's saved to disk? Confused

Yes, but I can't see anything once I save the photo to my computer and I don't know why. How did you get your image?

Wow, you guys are simply amazing on those last two puzzles. ANd I'm still confused how we got "in the end" since the ROT method we were using didnt come up with those letters. This is a great ARG though, lotsa imaging and decoding. Slick website. I'm not sure why the CIA or NSA doesn't swoop in and hire us all now Smile. But yeah, looks like we got ourselves another login/password puzzle. Looks like more digging. You guys got through that fast, its a shame I dont have any good image manipulation software, can you guys recommend any free stuff?

and whats the consensus about the blogads.tk picture? I think we should return to the previous ones.

Hey Vman, I used to live in Kent, I am in Tacoma, now. Rock on. I noticed there was some confusion on the chapter codes, and that it must start with in the e...so I scoured TEC for phrases that started that way...fyi.

The rest of these guys (and gals) are just freakin wiz's though. I use speculation and guesswork and they use their brain stems.

Anywho...I am stumped on this one. Someone should try t odesteg the pic, or do their magical picture stuff to it...

We weren't using ROT to get "in the end". We realized the chapter codes were base2 binary, rather than traditional binary. Ty gave me the first "letter" in an email. It, oddly, was NOT the first chapter.

There is a previous post of mine about how to do base2. 01001 = 9 = I. 01110 = 14 = N, 00000 = 0 = space, and so on and so forth. The title of one of the monk blogs was in the end pride is negative space. So when Ty said we don't NEED the books, he was right.

In regards to the blogads.tk stuff...

there is a website called blogads, but I can't find anything of relevence. Also, I'm unsure if it's a .tk link, or maybe just the initials of Ty Kieth.

I'm stumped right now, though, with little leads. The only thing I can say is that we check about the various blogs for clues.

And finally, go to www.fauxto.com for a free online picture editor.
