Ryouta

Kinda interesting - the name Ryouta means Refreshing, thick, nice and cool -- just like a Slusho!

Sounds like someone's kid was influenced by their parent's name.

Wow, I can't believe this thread is still kickin' it. I started lurking on uF when it was still a wee single digit baby, and now it's grown into a huge whale. Rolling Eyes

strange coincidence(or is it)

I found this by just googling around.

Look at the English cast of Rumiko Takahashi Anthology (TV)

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=2690

Simon Isaacson as Manager
Sonja S. Fox as
Housewife
Kazuko
Stephen Martello as Doctor

Tara Hudson as Yukie Asakawa
Tara Platt as Kenta

Ted Sroka as Tsuyoshi Shinonome
Wendee Lee as
Female Guest
Nurse
Yuko Haga
William Markham as Betto
William Frederick Knight as
Old Man
Pops

Hmm... did his name come from here, with Huds' love of animation and all or just another wacky coincidence(most likely)? Interesting though.

Sorry, the term "whale" is now culturally incorrect. Now, we say "Mesonychid". Oh, and because you said the "w word", the unforum police will be forced to arrest you under suspicion of heresy. Very Happy

Yes, I was here at this damned thing's conception... It is now a hellish beast, a practical Behemoth, a - hey, wait! No, don't arrest me, all I said was Behem- *bang* *bang* *bang* Gaaaahhh... Shocked

Sorry, went on a tangent there...

EDIT: Also, whatever did we find out about this?

I have no idea if the name Henry Kelvin is from the movie or is significant in any other way.
Was it disproved?

H. Kelvin was depicted as the contact/address on the postcard to Ethan in MI3. (Not to mention the very, very similar scene when Ethan gets the first mission in the convenience store to the Slusho scene in Alias)

Henry and Kelvin are apparently names of two characters in Abrams' Lost.

Henry Kelvin is one of the contacts for the 1-18 site.

All these things do have JJ Abrams in common.

What still seems amusing to me is how much of the WHOIS we've all ignored and disregarded...when the kick off came in the fact the WHOIS was the same info for 1-18 and the Transformers' Sector 7 site (i.e. arg)

And Albert Pike.
And the Santa Monica airfield.
And the original shoot names.
And the glaring mystery story in Slusho History.
And the newspapers in the slusho packing.

And the rest of the big ones that keep getting ignored in favor of a monolithic distraction party on nothing more than who or what the monster is...which largely isn't the point of any of the above being released. It was and is intriguing but it's really hard to focus and work with others who found it worthwhile to dig into when everyone else hijacks threads to post another irrelevant photoshop of their take on the monster, or to argue and rag on people, or to generally be a dick.

And yet still people are surprised nobody's managed to "come up with anything" more on it. No kidding. It's turned into a day at Chucky Cheese Acid House for Kids. Rolling Eyes

(Prediction: this thread grows another useless 23 pages while the abovementioned psychokiddies wax reflective on a giant rat...including the inevitable backlash at me for daring to suggest the obvious that's turned so many people off. )

I am one who favored locking this down before July was even out...

Tinag222, most people in here dont have a college vocabulary, or even a high school one yet. Plus school is only what, 2 weeks in? Your going to have to use smaller words to hold the attention of most of those in here. Consider a theasurus when compiling data onto this site.
Edit: You were the one that started that lion thing, and i quote

"Rob" and I was distracted a bit later when someone amid the panic said whatever the growling thing was, it was a giant lion.
You started it tinag222 Worshippy

Um... don't mind me, but do you really need a COLLEGE education to know words like 'apparently', 'worthwhile' or 'prediction'? Methinks perhaps the verboseness of the sentient masses slake the unremarkable conscious equality.

Or... not. And anyway, regardless of this being my business or not, I find it appalling that someone is being told off for actually knowing how to communicate properly on t3h intarnets. Some of us actually appreciate others for having a wide vocabulary, and might I point out it is probably BECAUSE of the thesaurus that tinag222 knows these words in the first place.

Might I introduce you to another book, called a dictionary? It's how we learn, and progress, and not wait for the words to be taught to us in school.

And on topic:

No, no lion.

Heh, I joined just to post this.. I found this site just now, and I was dragging the pictures around, playing with them.. I haven't read all 350 pages of this, and I really don't plan to, so I don't know if anyone else has found this.. But I left the page open as I browsed the ARG page.. I think it was open about 10, 15 minutes.. As I was browsing this thread, actually, I suddenly heard what sounded like a loud roar in my headphones. I thought it was one of my other windows, but the first one I closed was 1-18-08.com, and the sound stopped. It's 4:30 in the morning and my lightbulb blew hours ago, so I am not in any kind of right state of mind going back to the site to see if anything had appeared on the screen, but I definitely heard a roar.

Okay, I lied, I got bored and opened it again. I'd say that this "roar" came about 7-10 minutes into the site being opened, and nothing else really "out of the ordinary" happened. No new pictures, no pop-ups, no nothing.. Just a roar.
