Need some Help

Hi all,

After reading all your posts, I wonder if my 3rd ball is really released. Indeed, after 2 months, I've already give to it so many big bang that I could recreate all the universe. By pushing the plunger as far as I can and by releasing it I can hear a small metallic click, so it should be released. But I've tryed then everything, upside down, anticlockwise till it's quite, nothing to do, just able to moove the placenta 1cm anticlockwise but nothing clockwise. I really appreciate some help.

If someone could help me, please PM me at morphosyzSPLATgmail.com

Many thanks

Eric

If you're sure you released the third ball Morphosyz, put the Isis to your ear and turn it upside down if you hear a metallic 'click' this means the ball has stuck back to the magnet.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
But of course if you don't hear the click this doesn't necessarily mean the ball hasn't been released as it may have begun it's journey through the maze already.

For everyone who has opened their Isis I'd recommend super-gluing something down the hole over the magnet so it's not as strong, this way you won't have to hit the Isis so hard next time.

to open isis
[/spoiler] just whack it until you can't push plunger down that far, then turn it over untill you can't hear ball bearings moving about inside, the push plunger then twist top golden bit. Make sure you keep holding plunger down when you twist.

Finally, it's open!
Thanks to all of you. I solved it with your guidance.

This beautiful puzzle has decorated my desk at work for several months, since the last time I came to this post and ultimately put it back down unopened. Crying or Very sad

Last night, I gave it another go, and one of the more subtle clues actually let me solve it with a bit of "ah-ha!" thinking. Shocked I thoroughly enjoyed all of your comments that gave thoughts and ideas without 100% spoiling. Please continue this board with Isis 2 through 5.

What was the clue that helped? , well it related to:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the anticlockwise motion

The "A-Ha" moment I needed (major spoiler for me, you are warned).

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
motion doesn't necessarily mean turning or rotating

By the way, I solved it the "proper" way. I have since thoroughly taken the insides apart, photographed all of it, made a quicktime of the key motion required to get to the halfway point (with enough pieces removed to understand how it works), and practiced certain movements to get them down. It is beautiful inside. I will not post any of that online, because this is truly one of the best puzzles in my collection and I'd like them to keep it up.

Thanks,

Topher C

Warning on putting it back together!
You can brick it if you don't really understand how it works.

Now that I've opened it, I understand the "stuck" positions in several thread replies. I'll say this, if you do get it open, be VERY careful putting it back together and then only with the KEY OUT! Get the key out immediately, as "playing with the two halves" even lightly can get it locked together, and unless certain parts are put back right first, the only way to retrieve your key is to send it to SW with your money, where they pull the key out, close the ISIS, and send it all back to you, except the money. Embarassed (I believe you must have already submitted the code for them to pull out your key this way).

When you solve it and submit your code, SW tells you how to reset it and warns that even if you don't dissasemble it to peek at the good parts, the odds of putting it together wrong and bricking your toy are good. I misread their instructions, and promptly started to put it back together wrong. It locked up a third of the way together, and it took me a good 10 minutes of grief before I was able to backtrack and really think it through before trying again.

I decided to pull it apart and really document it to come up with my own instructions for reassembly. I'd be happy to share it with people who have opened theirs, but it gives away too much for those still trying. PM me a photo with your forum name it and the view in the bottom half of your open ISIS, and I'll share my tips, so hopefully you never brick yours.

Happy solving,

Cheap ISIS...
I know most of you have one already but I found one really cheap...

Hi guys,

Just to let you all know I have found an isis for sale really cheaply on the web. Well in fact its only cheap if you use the following promo code (promo10). This takes 10% off the price making it the cheapest on the web I think. Check out the following link:

http://www.geniegadgets.com/gadgets_uk/isis-puzzle.html

Anyway back to my Isis - i'm sure Ive nearly got it now!!!

Isis coming to the USA

This was posted to another of my puzzle communities:
Quote:
I have the pleasure of announcing to our fellow puzzlers and treasure hunters over the water that the Isis Adventure puzzle (www.isisadventure.com) is soon to be launched in the US by The Sharper Image. This will be in the next couple of weeks.

There are plans for a small number of prize pyramids but the majority of the prizes will be claimed from a special Sharper Image web site.

The Sharper Image Isis' have been specially produced for them and will be in 2 colour choices.

Look out for further details at www.sharperimage.com

...

P.S. We have already hidden a number of free Isis puzzles on the west coast and near the east coast. Details of which will be released by The Sharper Image in due course.

Solution

Ditto. I'm 28 years old and thought I had more than half a brain, but I'm happy to openly admit that dispite reading every piece of advice I can find, I still can't open the damn thing, therefore I must be completely stupid. Its driving me mad, distracting me from work, and giving me RSI in my hands. I truly wish I didn't buy the thing. Please...can anyone guide me through opening it so I can get on with the rest of my life?

Ball Bearings, How can I tell?

Hello all,

I got this Isis for my birthday, girlfriend knew how much I wanted to try it so gave it to me a day earlier. Finally got a chance to sit down and go through the clues today, I've decrypted all 10 Clues now. I can hear the ball bearings inside the isis but I cant tell how many there are, will it be very obvious when i have 3 moving?

Thankyou in advance for the help, and Grats to those who have managed to open it already Smile

Edit 20th September: Lo all again, I've managed to get the 3rd ball into play

Help - I am going mad
Getting to half way stage

I have my third ball bearing released but how do I get it into the next stage please? The anti-clockwise motion clue has confused me - I have tried all sorts of motions.
Please don't tell me to read the clues again - I can't get to sleep at nights because I have read them so often.

Pleeeeease somebody help me. PM is fine.

Stuck
Where did all my bearings go?

I havent got my Isis out for a while, but I did recently and I couldn't hear ANY ball bearings inside. I discovered that if I held the Isis so that the plunger faced upwards towards the ceiling and shook vigourously, a bearing fell from some magnet and could mover freely, until i turned the Isis back upside-down, upon which the bearing stuck back. Any help would be appreciated, I though two bearings was the min.
