[SPEC] Script? Dont flames..... bitch http://www.steaknbj.com/forum/t1362-what-youve-been-waiting-for.html
Supposedly this is part of the script from an insider from cloverfield. Don't flame just something I found.
About one billion (yes billion) years ago, life on Earth was still at the multi-cell level and they remained mostly in their habitat. One of the organisms was more passive and preferred a symbiotic relationship for their survival. Another (and there were more) was more aggressive and preferred to control larger beings for their survival.
Back then, the world had only one continent. The two organisms were separated, for the most part, by land. But the aggressive organism had developed a taste for the passive one and tried to feed on it as often as possible by going around the land mass. Until a cataclysmic event changed things, burying most of the ancient organisms under the oceans. The surviving organisms either died off or evolved (later becoming humans and what not).
Fast forward to present day and we have Japan discovering the passive organisms buried off their coast and eventually came to the conclusion that the American continents (North and South) had drifted over the aggressive organisms (more on them later) during the past billion years.
Japanese scientists begin studying this passive organism and find that it is a perfect nourishment supplement to humans. Grown in an agricultural field on the island of Hokkaido, Japan, these organisms create the appearance of cloverfields. The scientists learn that these organisms are beneficial symbiotic parasites that give us additional nourishment and make us feel happy. Thus humans and the parasites become one.
They are kept cold to prevent them from dying from exposure until they are introduced into their host. Thus the development of the awesome and delicious drink – Slusho! (It makes me happy).
Rob is a college graduate who has been hired by Slusho and has just accepted an offer to work in their technologies division in Japan. Rob also knows the basics of the organism, the story that Slusho "invented" as a marketing campaign and has recently been informed that the scientists have found trace amounts of the aggressive organism.
This aggressive organism likes to pool up into a larger being, control it, own it, even change it. It also eats the smaller passive organism much the same way a whale will eat plankton.
Slusho is now one of the most popular drinks. In it's own right it is a tasty meal that does not add fat and is proven to be healthy with claims that it cures cancer and many other diseases.
Slusho and it's by-products are now being flushed (literally) into the sewer systems and drained out to sea by way of urine, fecal matter and just straight unconsumed Slusho. This builds up on the ocean floor and eventually awakens a very hungry and aggressive organism.
This aggressive organism, hungry and well, aggressive, follows the sewer trail back to New York and emerges through the sewers breaking and igniting a natural gas pipeline in it's effort to feed on the passive organism, which is now us.

It has been posted before. Most likely a fake.

I'd like to know which thread this was posted to before. I'd like to put my full commentary on it there. I see some serious weaknesses in it.

Honestly, at this point any "script" is as good as the next.
However, many of us have posted our opinion elsewhere of how "Slusho!"
has nothing to do with the core context of the film. It's just a JJ inhouse joke
or something.
This is why I would reject any so-called script featuring Slusho as a major,
ummm, ingredient.
Of course, I'm flying just as blind as everyone else here.

OK, so I found the first reference to this supposed script here , but seeing as that thread is pretty well long dead and buried I'll just state what I see as glaringly wrong here.
Symbiosis and Parasitism are complete opposites. A parasite consumes from it's host at the detriment of it's host. A symbiont consumes from it's host or partner while contributing something beneficial back. Something can not truly be both, and if it apparently does both then the balance of it's impact is what determines it's classification.
The two supposed scripts disagree on their clarity and adherence to known science (upon which any credible science fiction monster depends) relative to geologic history. One speaks of Pangea, which is well into the era of complex multicellular organisms contrary to the person's assertions. The version here speaks of a single continent but doesn't name it, but says a cataclysmic event occurred that is implied to have destroyed it. The supercontinent landmass at the time was Rodinia, which broke up through much slower geological processes. At least in this more recent rendition they got the timing pretty much right for early simple multicellular organisms. Problem is these things were not possessed of a central nervous system and hardly plausible for having the intentions spoken of as important to this 'yin-yang' arrangement. Plausibility is pretty important to good science fiction.
Basically, I think someone took a few of the things found and speculated on in the Slusho site and based on either loosely recalled or poorly researched info cooked up this little 'script'. Can you imagine someone pitching this to a film company with even a half a clue about science fiction?

I'm going to have to disagree on this argument.
If an organism (like the passive organism described in this script) makes humans happy, may cure cancer, etc., that organism is obviously working in a symbiotic relationship with humans. It may even be advertised as "no known (detrimental) side effects".
Of course, how are we supposed to know that one of those side effects would be to bring a giant beast to destroy New York? At that point, I'd consider it a parasite.
In fact, maybe the argument will be made (in this script at least) that the passive organism is part of the aggressive organism. The passive is disbursed from the aggressive to entice other organisms (aka human) into injesting it. Once injested, the passive organism acts like a beacon to call the aggressive one. It's kind of like marking your territory.
Finally, I don't think that this "script" was saying that the organisms had over developed central nervous systems and could think. It's nature. It's the food chain. One organism eating another beacuse it is weaker.

The 'script' here speaks of each type of crude multicellular organism 'preferring' a fairly complex concept of survival tactic, effectively making a choice. Calculated choices like that based on more than raw stimuli would require some sort of central nervous system. Actively controlling other beings as a choice is also attributing a pattern of thought. The supposed author here is giving a lot of credit for rational thought to creatures even less complex than the average plankton.
Oh, and any company that thought it had such a potent beneficial substance as to be able to cure cancer would market it as a far more profitable pharmaceutical, not a cute little frozen drink.
The implausibility of the content of this script screams fake.

As it did when originally posted, this "script" bears a striking resemblance to that which drops from the southern end of a northbound bull.

Which meaning? Do you mean 'don't flame, bitch' or
'don't flame, just bitch'?
The second makes the most sense after reading your post.

Maybe it's Engrish to add some validity to the "leak".
