Volvo Location Hunt

Volvohave a new website out to promote a new car. As part of it, they want you to find 70 locations where they have taken the car. There's no prizes, just the fun. The FAQS encourage you to work together. It looks fun.

Location: Far Far Away. Nowhere Near You. Really.

That was fun. A bit time consuming. Kinda hoped for some fireworks when I finished, but it was a fun ride around and around the world. I was pleased at how many places I knew right away but I also learned about a lot of other interesting places to visit.

Technical glitch: It prompts you to bookmark each site as you find it, which I did, but when I took an overnight break I had to re-hit all the bookmarks to get my progress to show again. Didn't have to go to all the places, just clicked them on my favorites list while I was on their site, and then refreshed.

Some of the hints made me want to get out my red pen to fix the grammar or missing words. And sometimes the answer they seemed to ask for wasn't accepted by their search function. Clue 69 for example - it asked for the address. I found the address. Couldn't get the right place. I had to find the place on google earth and then manually scroll there on the volvo page to find the place marker.

On the other hand I had some fun as I had to triangulate my way to some locations - kept entering locations I knew were close and watched the 'how far away' number go down until I could scroll around and find the exact place.
