Manhunt: Sawyer Help track down the man behind the name... Okay, here we go.
For reasons to complex to relate right this second, it's become important to me to track down Sawyer.
Obviously a task of this magnitude needs a team of people behind it, gathering info, following up leads.
Put simply, I need your help.
Could anyone with information regarding Private Detective 3rd Class Sawyer please contact me via my TIA account (same name) or post on this forum. No matter how basic or trivial, any information will be taken totally seriously, and may be of more use than you think...
I'll write a summary of what we've got so far in a minute.

Summary So here's what we've got so far:
New to the City? is written by him. Well duh, it even says that.
"The system calls me 'Private Detective GD111842-3PI*, 3rd class: Freelance License.' Around here, though, they just tend to call me Sawyer."
*Grey District 111842 [ID#] - 3rd Class Private Investigator
A search for "Sawyer" in the News and you'll find an article about him for discovering some unrecycled books. It reveals that he has done work for Transcorp Security, and that his first name starts with an N.
"Transcorp Security Freelance Private Detective N. Sawyer was recognized for the tracking down of the illegal black market book ring, but was unavailable for comment."
If you search his ID tag (GD111842-3PI) you get two articles, responses to "Gordon Sheeva, Intranet Philosopher".
Seems Sawyer is annoyed with what happened after he handed over the books (see article mentioned above) and that he thinks the media is being melodramatic with the "God-Killer"
"GD111842-3PI: As if you didn't already know when I scanned in. Let me put it this way Gordon, have you ever read a scanned copy of… oh say: "Lord of the Flies", "Bridge to Tarabithia" or maybe "Brave new world" or "To kill a mockingbird"?
The Brotherhood (specifically Brother Theo) don't trust him
RD119379-2PS: What are those?
RD100253-1MN: Umm… Well, actually I think those are all on the missing book list that is marked for instant digital transfer with credit rewards for anybody who finds one.
GD111842-3PI: Yea well I've seen them, touched with my own two paws. And I'm betting nobody else ever will, transferred or otherwise."
"GD111842-3PI: Of course, there's no such thing as the God-Killer"
Other random tidbits:
Bishop works for Sawyer. Think male-secretary.

Who is sawyer really? I wonder where sawyer really stands is he a "Winston Smith" , an "O'Brien", or a "Mr. Charrington"?

1984, the future and Sawyer... He does seems a bit of a Winston Smith now you mention it. Except without the constant surveillance, the torture and the "two plus two is five".
Deus City's governing body have also yet to even attempt to censore him, and it is quite obvious he thinks there's something up. If it really was "1984" they'd of got rid of him long ago.
Please don't let us start down the "Deus City is 1984" path. Yes, there are a lot of paralels, but well...it just doesn't feel the same.
Oh and I don't think Foo is Big Brother. He has much nicer hair ^-^

Um... Sawyer is the protagonist of the game--we'll never get to talk to him personally. It'll always be other people who communicate for us and tell us about him. I figure I'll restate it, in case that wasn't known, so if trouting, sorry!

Kropp vs. Sawyer & Bishop kropp says: What do you want with Sawyer? Please tell me you have something good on him - I'm convinced he's dirty but I can't prove it. He and that little worm Bishop have been a thorn in my ass since I worked the grey district beat last year. He flaunts his 3rd class freelance lic. and breaks all the rules. He's an old-school technophobe who has NEVER given me a straight answer once.

If that's what he says about Sawyer not giving straight answers, I don't want to imagine what he thinks about me
How come the handlers don't necessarily get along? Lex--in the game!--is arrogant (claims he's "for the elite") so I don't think he talks to the others, Kropp doesn't like Bishop (and presumably looks down on Blue District), and the other two (Lisa and Bishop) are quiet, so I doubt they really care about the others.
The handlers have meetings once a week together; I thought they'd tolerate each other more.

Well, the feeling between Bishop/Sawyer is the same for Kropp. My conversation is with Bishop about this is listed in the Bishop thread.

Sitting across from Sawyer right now... why do you care?
It isn't much, but its something. I'll see what I can get out of him.

Just read the official Bishop thread, there's alot of information there. If you're doing this IG though, just remember this board use of IG/OOG info, you need permission first!
