I teach middle school special education. Congrats on being almost finished. What will you teach when you are finished?

I will teach third grade. Wow, special ed is a great area and a very rewarding profession. A few of my friends teach special ed. One friend is in elementary level and two are in secondary.

Teaching in general can be very rewarding. . .special ed is no different than your 3rd grade experience will be. This is the hardest job I have ever had and also the most fun. It's why I play computer games--have to escape the real world somehow. hahaha

That's what boards are all about. It's the building of community, the coming together of minds.
I'm planning on getting out of the "corporate world" and teaching high school/junior high (why, yes, I am crazy, but I love that age group, they try so hard to be so grown-up and yet, just can't quite make it). Government/Social Studies. I've got one more college class I need to take that I managed to avoid when I was actually in college (economics), then I'm going to get an "emergency" teacher cert.

I've noticed a few "school marm" comments. . .are there other teachers out there? Happy Friday!
I teach high school English-- this is where most people usually grimace...

You think people grimace at high school? Try teaching middle school special ed. Haha. Its fun to tell people and then watch their faces. Almost always the face is saying, "oh my" while the mouth is saying, "you must have so much patience. What a special person you are."
I think its part of the beauty of education. If we all came out of college wanting to teach the same thing it wouldn't be very fun at all would it?

I'm thinking we will probably be looking at photos again this week. If Tony is going to go back to all the locations with the passphrase perhaps there will be pics of the members of The Keepers?
