I've read the PM chat, which was very exciting, but totally missed the part about the envelopes! Where is it that you guys are sending these? The art you got back was alluring.
Thanks, and it's nice to, well, meet all of you.
Welcome, evillager! The address is listed [here] , but from that article, they may be intended for people who participated in the first book.

So the coin you've seen so far is best described as a participant coin: they will always be bronze in color, be extremely limited edition, and be intended to end up in the hands of a participant in that Book of the story. More specifically, you might call this the "The Providence Prophecies" participant challenge coin (as it proves your participation in one very particular Book, the first.)
(it looks like future books may have something similar as well! ) Who knows? You could try to send in to see if you get something back?

Thanks WolfHawk!
I feel as though I know all of you already. Thanks to the Sentries, I'm learning a little about computer security, which I've always been too much the Luddite to learn before. I confess I'm one of those who are just now starting to accept that the internet isn't a fad...

NOW for the creepy part...IT HAS A ST. LOUIS POSTMARK...
<<<<<<<< Look over there.
I received my coin and postcard on Friday the 14th. Thanks, GMD people!
A little bird had told me I needed to be quick and send my SASE off ASAP, and since it was after postal hours (and seeing that I live in a flyspeck on the map, nothing was open), I was more utilitarian than creative by recycling a small, padded envelope.
After the chat, I saw that many hadn't even sent their envelopes yet, and were planning all sorts of creative goodness. Now I feel like a worm But, I did notice something rather strange about my envelope. I had attached 3 first class stamps, and there is no postmark, nor any mark of cancellation on the stamps or the envelope.

Well, I still haven't gotten mine yet... I mailed it a week ago... I assume that's because mail going from Florida to CA takes a while. I really hope I get it tomorrow.

That IS weird. I'm surprised the postal carrier delivered it. I thought mail legally had to have a postmark. Any chance you are in Florida?

Sometimes a letter gets missed, but this enevelope was probably not meant to be machine cancelled, but hand cancelled -- which makes it even more odd. I worked for the USPS, and while sorting mail, cancelled letters that had sneaked through somehow.
I don't know how this one got past the clerks in my little town's office. This thing just screams, 'cancel me'!
And nope, I'm not in Florida -- but Michigan.
