Sorry. I can't say I wouldn't be happy for Heroes: The Movie. Anyway, to my mind, this looks pretty legit so far. My big question is: why promote an American movie in a small, foreign town (unless its just one theater that got confused by what date they could put the poster up)?
As far as using Kanji, I can't personally read it. But the fact that it says "Monstor" is a little fishy. In "katakana" (a system the Japanese use to write American or foreign words) you could make the word "Mo-n-su-te-ru"... thus misspelling "monster" doesn't seem to be a function of the Japanese writing on the poster.
SHEFFIELD!? A SMALL TOWN!? For shame!

Maybe it's Jarvis Cocker who is the monster.

Changes I can't believe how many changes they made to the original poster...Why include the goofy eclipse and cover up the blown out buildings on the coast of the destruction? I believe its real, I have from the beginning, but the poster itself seems so ridiculous. The first poster didn't have much going on besides the path of the beast. Another thing is this eclipse, in the trailer it didn't seem to be so "eclipsey" outside lol.

Based in Sheffield as well. (Hi Buck ) If I get enough time I will go and check this out later today to verify- not that I dont believe it to be genuine.

Maybe they're trying to mess with our collective heads again? Also to be honest the "eclipse" didn't actually look like an eclipse in real life. I don't know how to explain it it was like it was hovering in the sky...
I'm off to town now so I'll take another picture when I'm there.

For the most part, the poster never logically follows the trailer. There's bits of debris floating away from the statue, a fresh wake in the water-- yet its dawn, with helicopters buzzing around, which suggests the morning after.
Incidentally, there will not be a solar eclipse in January, (http://sunearth.gsfc.nasa.gov/eclipse/OH/OH2008.html) so if this is legit, and if the poster is "aftermath" of the attack, then the eclipse is, in fact, caused by something related to the monster.
Also, appologies for calling Sheffield a small town. I probably would have called a place like Baltimore a small town, though, if only to express my shock that a poster appeared *there* before a city with significance to the movie plot (New York City, maybe Tokyo), or the movie industry (LA, Hollywood, New York). I guess it fits the possible theory that it got put up by accident, though.

Cheers again for all your efforts here.

The shit pic Well, like I said earlier, it looks rubbish, like it was a still from a camcorder. But the numbers are on the poster albeit very small.
I didn't even notice it to be honest, I walked straight passed it then my friend said to me "dude, have a look at this" and I instantly said "that's shite" and he said "dude, the numbers..."
It was a bit like lost only more entertaining and not on Sky.
