Hoax, fake, whatever I'd like to know where did the japanese lettering on the poster come from? Did you make it up or is it taken from something? and do you actually know what it means.
Because regrdless if it is a fake this pic really pulls everythig together to make a stong argument for what the mosnter actually is. It also explains alot of things on the Slusho site.. Didn't anyone else catch that? Perhapse you have to speak or be Japanese to get the clues.

Uh, in this very thread you'll find this explanation of what that text means and that they in fact came up with it and put it there.

I'm afraid to say my friend got it ever so slightly wrong the first part means "enormous"
The second part literally means "river child" in Japanese folklore a Kappa, or river child, is a kind of river imp. They are mischievous troublemakers, which is part of the reason why I chose it. Cos we were being mischievous!
And in actuallity he is wrong to an extent and in my opinion hit the nail on the head without actually realizing itall at the same time. I'll explain.
Myself having a good understanding of Japanese and the culture along with that, my wife is Japanese, I can say with certainty that the large letting Kyodai can mean monsterous but the word doesnt exist in the Japanese language. Kyodai is used and translated as "Huge" I suppose it is correct if your an non Japanese speaking person trying to translate the word. But this is just semantics.
The really instersting part is the other Kanji. Kappa. If you actually do some research on the subject you will find that the Kappa (Water- Child) folklore fits perfectly with the Slusho.jp site. Yes they where claimed to be mischievious and such but I think the important parts where overlooked.
The characteristics of a Kappa are described as having features and similarities of various creatures. Like the Monkey, Tortoises, Duck like , Are glutones for food such as the pig . The Kappa or Suijin (literally water kami or water deity) is also thought to take other forms such as it manifests itself as the water-cleansing bacteria in sewage water.
Do a google search for Kappa and read all the stuff about the folklore. You will see that every little cute character used in the Slusho.jp site can be directly tied to the Kappa. After seeing the fake poster alot of things clicked for me. I'll make a seperate post about the whole thing soon.

Unless that was an alt account and you were talking to yourself to make it look convincing??

If you mean me, I'm not the same person as Buck.
If you mean BRT, I think that's a friend of Buck's. If that's a smurf account of Buck's, he'd have to admit something that's a violation of ToS and might get him banned - despite coming clean about the hoax.

I made all the art work for it. The background - the original cloverfield poster - is just the normal cloverfield poster that can be found anywhere on the net.

Mods, for the love of all that's holy, PLEASE merge all the fake picture threads if you're not going to lock/delete them. Do we really need three threads to discuss this?
