I cant believe the way people reacted, im almost ashamed to be perfectly honest.
Dont you guys remember the first time you came across an arg?! I'm sure you have made mistakes like mentioning its 'a game' or asking questions like 'zomgz is this real?! How do we know its not real!' etc.

Imagine stumbling across a forum, related to something you believe stongly in, and seeing everyone talk about it with as much passion and dedication as you feel. Wouldnt you think it was real?

Regardless of his beliefs, or weather he is somewhat of a pest, he was just attacked for believing everything was real. And thats actually really shameful.

Sad

I'm pretty shocked and saddened about how this whole situation escalated out of control. Warning or not, the guy should have at least had a chance. It would have been easy enough to ban him if he turned into an ass down the line.

Hopefully we can be more patient and welcoming with future new players. It can be confusing and intimidating jumping into a game, especially one that's already been rolling along for awhile as this one has.

And way off topic - Cissmiace, your icon? Sexy! Wink

Please, don't treat new players like they are the enemy or with suspicion.

I believe there was question as to whether this person was a player or IG at first, which was only cleared up later. I mean, looking at that guys websites, it was hard to believe he could be for real (I sure wondered.)

Especially with everyone itching to get started with Book 2.

Anyway, mistakes were made.

I think my view is that we should treat everyone as if they are real people. Even if they are unique. I hate wondering if someone is a character or not. I know that there were a few times that new players joined and people wondered if they were real people. My suggestion is that we treat everyone as if they are real, it makes it simpler in the long run. Smile

I do think that Obs was acting with the best interest of everyone at heart. I'm afraid my posts sounded overly critical of Obs, which wasn't my intention.

I apologize for seeming hostile; I was trying to respond "in-character", not knowing if he was a plant, or what. I got the spammer vibe off him, thus my rationale for replying like I did. I was just trying to imagine how I would react to a post like that if the circumstances were real: I'd be angry at the whole situation, and doubly so at somebody who was making a joke of what had happened.

I just want you guys to know that I'd never respond to somebody looking to join in like that. I'll follow the group's lead next time.
