Alright, excuse my excitement, but I've never been this involved in an ARG before. Okay [catches his breath]. Here we go.

I just received a PM from Elias at Ideltech Security in the new building. Here is the log of that conversation:

07:26PM egrodin: Well needless to say I am not good with computers. And I guess he hired me for security because of my background in law enforcement.
07:26PM egrodin: I have no idea where to begin
07:26PM djoyce: I see.
07:26PM egrodin: Do you think maybe you could file them for me?
07:26PM egrodin: I would hate to put them in the wrong place07:27PM djoyce: Sure. I'll try my best.
07:27PM egrodin: Ok his instructions said to put them in the secure file server, whatever that means. and to password protect them. Do you think you could do that.?
07:28PM djoyce: I can give it a try. If I can't do it, I know somebody who can help me.
07:28PM djoyce: Do you want to send them to me?
07:29PM egrodin: great.. this has to be between us though.. he said these files need to stay secure from prying ears.. not sure if he was making a joke or what.

07:29PM egrodin: sure can you walk me through sending them to you. first time on this crazy computer.
07:29PM djoyce: ok, lets see

07:29PM djoyce: Then "Send A File"
07:30PM egrodin: ok
07:30PM djoyce: Then hit "Browse"
07:30PM djoyce: and find the file you want to send to me
07:30PM djoyce: then hit "send"
07:31PM egrodin: ok i will try that.

07:31PM egrodin: well i did that.. when will i know when you have it?
07:32PM djoyce: shoot, it said the operation timed out
07:32PM djoyce: can you try it again?
07:32PM egrodin: it said it did not send.

07:35PM djoyce: oh, you're in the new facilities? I hope I get a tour of them soon.

07:36PM egrodin: it is pretty modern.. alot of things about the security part of this place that are going to take awhile to learn.

07:40PM djoyce: nope, it didn't go through...it's on my desktop but it won't open

07:40PM egrodin: well i got yours.. that is kind of a cool picture..

07:40PM djoyce: yes, that would be a better idea
07:40PM djoyce: plus it should be pretty secure

07:41PM djoyce: just right click on the file, hit send to mail recipient and fill out the To: box with my contact info

07:50PM egrodin: well i opened the email and put your email address in that i found in your contact information. then i remember someone telling me about attatchments.. not sure if that is it or not.

07:50PM egrodin: well it diapeared. so I guess that means it is on its way.

08:01PM djoyce: Yes, and they worked perfectly.
08:02PM egrodin: great. Well I have to walk my rounds and check all the outer exits. I really do apreciate this. and please if you could keep this between us. I would hate to get fired my first week.
08:03PM djoyce: okay. By the way, do you know what server it should be stored on?
08:04PM egrodin: Mr. Thesburg just said the secure server. not sure which one that is. He was in quite a hurry when he left here this afternoon. I guess there is only one.

Sorry for the length of this log, but I didn't want to miss any clues, and the whole technically inept thing really fits into Elias's characterization.

Attached are the files he sent me. Two tape-recorded conversations between Melody and Marcus. The first one is their conversation regarding Krystal's kidnapping. The second one is Melody giving Marcus Sh*t. See for yourself.

NOTE: Can somebody clear up the audio? There might be some data hidden in that file somewhere?

So now Krystal is in a world of mess and so is Ideltech and so we have to try figure out where the hell she is. Do you understand? It's...whatever.

Well, so, what..what you have been telling me and what I have on Amboy monthly is completely wrong? I've been publishing your propaganda?

The most important part right now is that Krystal is in trouble. With Krystal in trouble, we have to do everything we can right now to make sure that we get her to safety. I think this is accurate. I have a headache and there's lots of static so I could be a bit wrong in places. *edited to add in 2nd transcript.

 		I keep looking for how Marcus is crooked, but after all the interactions with him that have been reported, I don't see it. The AWARE stunt was pretty stupid for several reasons, but not malicious. His concern for Krystal seemed genuine, and he seems pretty up and up about his screwing around at whatever the bar was called that he frequents. I think a man who is honest about his kinks gets points.

Melody als strikes me as basically a good egg, but provincial and naive about relationships, with a tendency towards an emotional vulnerability. My prediction is something rather bad is going to happen with her and Thad. (Maybe she'll be brainwashed into the cause, and show up on a security camera with a rifle...)

I guess this is to say that I still don't get how Unfiction people are drawing their conclusions about Marcus being a bad guy, or at least highly suspect. Please let me know if I'm missing something obvious.

 		I like Marcus and trust him
We only suspected Marcus because we suspect everyone. Smile
I always thought he was honest as far as his relationship with Melody is concerned, but some people thought he was lying to her about what he was telling us. That's not my opinion but everyone else can, and does, draw their own conclusions. Personally, I like Marcus, but given my past experience that doesn't bode well for Marcus.

My problem with Marcus is based only on his political beliefs and what he is trying to do with TOBI.

And then there are those masks.... I don't know what to do with that and my initial feeling is that it's not really MArcus buying them unless it's a big clue were missing.

Is it possible for someone to impersonate Marcus even on the IntellIM system?? Don't all they need is his password to be him??

 		Didn't Marcus himself warn us that people can imitate others on Intellim, and we need to check their emails to make sure they're who they say they are? That's one of the reasons I wanted Elias to email me, not to mention that we just couldn't get the file transfer to work.

Something to remember in future?

 		Just to clarify. I have double checked my contacts list and my message history on Intellim. I was talking to MThesburg (mthesburgSPLATideltech.com) about the masks. I think that Marcus was trying to warn us about people not really being Ideltech employees, but having Intellim accounts anyway. I do agree that it is something to look out for in the future. In the meantime, I'll be keeping an eye on that basket on ebay.

 		I agree with Ras. I wouldn't risk it at this point. Marcus is already paranoid enough over his blog. Besides, Melody seems happy right now. There is no reason to upset her by telling her Marcus tapes her phone conversations.
