UPDATE: Ideltech news (5/7)

Just in from the news page at Ideltech.com:

Quote:
May 7, 2004
After an other companies various attempts of obtaining TOBI through
high priced offers and threats, Ideltech Information has retained the law firm of Landau, Luckman, and Lake.

Huh, where have we heard that name before? Wink

EDIT: colin pointed out that Landau, Luckman and Lake is hyperlinked. Guess where? Confused

Subject: Another bid? Threats??

Just read the latest newspost you put up on the website... Another bid I can understand, but threats? I've kinda heard of LLL, they seem to be pretty big legal guns. If I may ask, who the hell are these people? Starting to get worried about ya here...

Let's see what happens. Smile

I got up to speed(ish) here at the collectivedetective site here : http://www.collectivedetective.org/campaign/l3/evidence/
You may need to sign up to get access to the cases though, try the link and find out.

Thanks Fi. I missed Acheron. I even found this over a week late. So I just have one other question. Is the site the same as it was in Acheron, or has it been "updated" for TAFKAA (aka is this an in-joke or in-game)?

Well it's exactly the same www address as the Archeron site. And it's registed through GoDaddy.com as,

Registered through: GoDaddy.com (http://www.godaddy.com)

Domain servers in listed order:
NS27.1AND1.COM
NS28.1AND1.COM

Which is much the same as the info given here on the CollectiveDetective site for Archeron

Since it was linked directly from Ideltech site I would assume for now that it's genuine even if it's a nod and a wink to earlier Args by the PMs. Otherwise, we would need to assume that Marcus and his friends were somehow AWARE of the events that occured during Archeron. I hope this makes sense.

The DNS entries were updated two days ago, and all the files have a timestamp of yesterday (5/6)...

What I find perplexing is that "Lake" is not hyperlinked. "Landau," "Luckman," and "and" are all linked to that site (not as a phrase, but individually), but not Lake. At this point, the only thing I can think of that might connect to that is the actual lakes in the Amboy area. Yeah, I know it's a stretch.

This in the source code:
Quote:
, and Lake.

It could be that the second was meant to be a and they just goofed up. But that doesn't explain why each part of the name was linked separatly and not all together.

However, since this is an ARG, it's always possible this is a KLOO!

I just found this on the LL&L "Practices" page:
Quote:
The firm handles litigation of all types that follow from the other practice areas. We represent clients in federal civil and criminal matters, other state matters, and handle complex federal appeals. [ white collar crime?] We also represent clients in federal administrative proceedings, including IRS and SEC proceedings and other matters. Our patent group handles all litigation relating to patent enforcement.
That "white collar crime" comment seems a little out of place to me.
