Well, yeah, but...

Tai is definitely a fanchick...this isn't the first time I've seen her comments posted. They're on several of the pages. So I strongly doubt she's part of JJ and Company.

But, yeah, in the "old days," the PMs were so "strict" that they even deleted comments from people whose profiles contained references to the movie.

I think it just shows that the PMs are throwing in the towel on that rule: they realize it's going to be almost impossible to get comments from anyone who *doesn't* have at least a few fan-references to 1-18-08.

So who ever made it put "MARTINI" in the search and got this.
Also "I'm a Jack girl" picture is found in the alcohol section.

So when making this page their first thoughts for Jamie were Martini and alcohol and thats' what they wanted portrayed.

So, she's a glutton when it comes to consuming (alcoholic) beverages. Hurm...

I don't think its hitting on the deadly sins, it would just be getting way too ridiculous. I think its just trying to give personality to the characters. Maybe give something to relate to them. Jaime is obviously supposed to be the ditzy blond, party chick. She's not gluttonous by any means, she is just that typical party girl.

Only thing that bothers me is that we know more about a side character like jaime, rather than more about rob, who seems to be a big deal...

Some have (wisely, I think) contemplated that we're learning so much about Jamie because she's going to bite it pretty early in the movie, so this is all to give her some backstory and develop her character in a way that 10 min of screen time probably can't do, so that when she dies, the unfiction-type audience is already emotionally invested. Or that's the plan, anyways -whether they can add dimension to a skanky party girl remains to be seen. It's a great idea, in theory, but I hope they're planning on doing more than what we've seen so far, since she still seems pretty vapid and uninteresting to me (not to mention a well-worn horror movie sterotype).

In contrast, it seems likely that characters like Rob and (I'm guessing) Beth will be around for a while in the movie, so we're not learning a ton about them beforehand. Either they don't die and there's no need to convince us to care about them, since viewers will naturally relate to the "main" characters in any respectable horror movie, or they die so late in the movie that the script has a chance to sufficiently develop their characters. This is my guess, anyways. I definitely agree with you that Rob, supposedly the main character, has given us the least amount of info to work with.

I agree it is ridiculous, but who knows the basis for a writers' ideas.
