Also, there's a 'z' instead of monk1_333.gif; Probably significant.

I don't understand. Confused

I think the letter z and/or the number 333 is important.

By the way, monk1_333.gif is in directory, even though it isn't part of the image. It doesn't look much different from the other images though.

The image tiled in the background is:

http://www.the-electric-church.com/brother/monk/images/monk1_418.gif

So this is the image that appears behind the z and the unique images as well.

All the links on here I get "directory has no index file" and I've entered in the username and password.

These links should work

http://the-electric-church.com/brother/monk2/images/monk2_14.gif
http://the-electric-church.com/brother/monk2/images/monk2_70.gif
http://the-electric-church.com/brother/monk2/images/monk2_304.gif
http://the-electric-church.com/brother/monk2/images/monk2_534.gif

I still don't understand the z thing (like where you're seeing it) and the monk1_333.gif thing though. Confused

Still doesn't work. Any guesses as to why?

Hi there. Smile

Finally crawling out of the woodwork as a new poster, short-time lurker of the TEC thread.

I saved the page, with files, to the harddrive and took one set of images out of the code at a time (monk1_1.gif through monk1_464.gif, monk2 gif set, monk3 gif set, etc) and grabbed the four aforemention gif files. Pulled them into Photoshop and started playing around with 'em in layers, flipping, overlaying, blah blah. Eh, it's what I do.

Haven't figured out precisely what they are (circuitry diagram? wiring?), but I did see each little GIF, in its "box" portion, appears to have a letter.

2-14 = A
2-70 = J
2-304 = A
2-534 = X

...or at least that's what it seems to be when overlaid on a white background. Which makes me wonder if this has to do with the whole "save him" bit on the /brother/ chatbox page?

Also, was just able to access the four files in question, directly from the server, using these links:

http://the-electric-church.com/brother/monk2/images/monk2_14.gif
http://the-electric-church.com/brother/monk2/images/monk2_70.gif
http://the-electric-church.com/brother/monk2/images/monk2_304.gif
http://the-electric-church.com/brother/monk2/images/monk2_534.gif

Weird, because I also got the whole "directory has no index file" when trying to doublecheck them just a few min ago. Try now, Adam C?

Welcome aboard!
I found the same thing unless I look at the full image first.

If I go to http://the-electric-church.com/brother/monk1.html first and then go to the image files, I have no problem seeing them.
Otherwise, I get those errors.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I've put the four images together and it looks like a semaphore message( look closely). I haven't been able to decode it to anything meaningful yet though.

Edit: Aha. I found DNAACXDFNP by going from top to bottom, which can be decoded as a vignere cipher with the keyword AJAX to get 'deadcoding'. With the username 'Ajax' this is the password.

Edit2: And that seems to be the last puzzle! Ask Ajax to run a TK risk protocol, and he'll give you another address.

good job!
This is defintely the end, and don't look ahead if you don't want to ask Ajax for yourself.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

You get
http://www.the-electric-church.com/alls/well/that/ends/well/death.html from Ajax.
The source code has a message from Ty, and another web page.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
its too bad the "TK risk protocol" doesnt work on Barnaby Dawson too, I suppose that means the final word is that he is actually OOG
