Okay!

I was trying to sleep but this ARG was bothering me.

So watching this youtube video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=JY1GSS2JRv0

At about... 0:33, there is a picture of a man in a mask that looks suspiciously like something from... NEUROCAM.COM

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neurocam

Looking through the WAYBACK MACHINE you can see that they once had this video up: http://web.archive.org/web/20060707114135/http://www.neurocam.com/
And this one:
http://web.archive.org/web/20070504052614/http://www.neurocam.com/

Neurocam was always a scary as fuck site, that had their operatives do some things that bordered on ILLEGAL.

Also, in this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrOjfQ_tlY0
There seems to be some more being said behind the main voice, maybe backwards. Someone with the technology should look into it.

They are a bit creepy, but somehow they don't bother me like WI does.
And WI scares the crap out of me to this day.

I'm not surprised that Silverladder references Neurocam. They referenced WI, as well (hilariously the video on the page that had the reference had nothing to do with WI at all.)

I know how you feel.
I regretted watching the first one, then, when I tried to watch the second one I just paused it and fast forwarded it (using the slider, of course).
Still scared the crap out of me.

To this day I still label WI as one of the very few truly evil things.

Yeah. I've laughed at movies like Saw and the Ring, but that....
Like I said, evil.

But somehow I'm not disturbed by the Card videos. Even the darkest of them have a good vibe, somehow.
I guess it's like a good natured beast trying to give a gift that looks scary, but isn't supposed to be. That's kind of what I feel when I watch these.

Well, laughed is a bit of an exaggeration. The short movie in The Ring was creepy, but not to the extent of WI. WI lasted awhile in my head, like a bad taste in my mouth. The Ring video didn't....

http://www.silverladder.com/winter/ina/

I think I may have found a new page, and the source says the missing image has links. One is the communicate page, which I'm not sure anyone else has found. The email goes to transmissionSPLATsilverladder.com

In case you were wondering, I decided to use ina after reading http://www.silverladder.com/winter/alice/ and deciding Ina must be important.

JK lol any bad link will take you to that page. Sorry.

i know it's long, and it sucks reading from the beginning, but i suggest reading the thread, as it will bring you up to speed on what's going on. also check out the despoiler as well. http://silverladder.despoiler.org/index.php?title=Main_Page

Wandering- according to two of clubs, "Athena has gone into seclusion for a while. She is seeking answers within herself..."

right now we're speculating on the recent bulletins.

Does anyone have any theories as to what Arthur Koestler was right about? In connection with the video? His theory in The Ghost in the Machine??? Should we as The Two of Clubs?

Actually, I think I was guilty of reading too much into this last night.

I BELIEVE( Laughing ) that this is a reference to Koestler's The Ghost In The Machine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ghost_in_the_Machine)

Quote:
While himself rejecting what he refers as "crass dualism", Koestler is using a different approach, aiming at a more general explanatory principle, the hierarchical organization of life and the adaptability of living forms through a continuous exchange of energy and information. Following this principle down to its consequences, the book gets to a theme which has somehow never ceased to be of actuality, man's tendency towards self-destruction, which is reaching the height of its potential of expression in the nuclear arms arena.

However, I think that this is a basic overal reference to the atmosphere we are "playing" in. The cards have a heirarchy and organization. (suits, ranks etc) By interacting with them we are exchanging energy and information. In doing so WE have some control and dictate what happens next.

I think that this is all to re-iterate that we are not just along for a ride, waiting for things to unfold, but actual vehicles that drive this and affect(effect?) the next step or outcome by our actions and words.

The reason people came to the conclustion "Ghost" by the way, was because someone asked the deuce of clubs what Koestler was right about.
His answer was the ghost.

And yes, despite the difficulty I STRONGLY suggest reading this thread to the end, and favoriting many of the links you find.
And don't worry, for people who like waiting for a brand new trailhead, this is STILL brand new. That's right. It's already gotten deep a month before it normally would.

Ugh, I've looked all over for that old sitemap we used when the site was up the first time and I can't find it.
You know, the one with ALL of the Silverladder links we found?
It'll help here.

Strange....

Has anyone else noticed that the Equinox page doesn't have alternate texts in its links anymore?
Not the best of feelings, there....
