Heinlein quiz Especially for you, Laz!
Which Heinlein book should you be a character in?
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
You belong in the Cat Who Walks Through Walls. You are creative and cunning. Your works often feel empty to you, though others love them. You suspect that the universe and everyone in it are just characters in someone else's story.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
You belong in Starship Troopers. Your idea of a good time is bouncing across an alien battlefield blasting the foes of humanity into extinction.
So true...

Well, now I have to read the book, I guess.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
You belong in Farnham's Freehold. You are a survivor, ready for anything. You can keep a cool head, even in a world where hatred and bigotry are commonplace.
Of course, with hair like this, a cool head is simple.

I wouldn't start out with it if you haven't read any other Heinlein. I read somewhere that it was his way of proving that he could write a protagonist who wasn't perfect.
Tunnel in the Sky, though - that's an awesome read.

I'm not sure what I'm spoiling by not using spoiler tags.

Well, this should come as no surprise to anyone:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
You belong in Time Enough For Love. You are older than you look. Your wit and wisdom are prized by others. People throw themselves on you, begging to be with you.

Was it as originally published or the newer edition with the cut bits added back in? I can only imagine how many tapes were needed for it...
as for me...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The first question is my biggest problem:
A suit of high-tech battle armor? my new luv: mechwarrior mercenaries
A sexy outfit? well, duh.
A sentient computer? um, I play ARG's
A rocket? who wouldn't.
A glass of water? always needed
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
And then the choice among:
Check your computer
Beg forgiveness for last night (and sometimes those are two overlap)
Pretend that everything's fine
Groan in pain (leg injury)
Imagine what you'll do today
Roll over and kiss your mate (um, more overlaps)
sorry for the spoiler madness, I just follow the paths blazed by others.
