Of all the information we have so far, if this is in fact a "game" I think this clue has the most potential of being useful.

You all are looking for information on the monster; that is NOT going to come from the characters. They won't meet the thing for another four months, and there is no logical reason for hidden messages or clues in to anything they say or do. They are living their lives, and what you see is simply character development.

This picture, however, has *nothing* to do with any of the characters or information we have up to now. It has no link to anything we know so far (well, other than it being in Japanese). It comes completely out of left field, anonymously, without any link to anything we know so far, and has to serve some purpose for existing.

If there is more to be found (and I admit I still have my doubts as to whether this is a "game" or not), I have reason to believe that this image is a big part of it.

any one take a good look at the letter you will notice that there is letters that are finer, and darker then the rest of them. like for example....the1st and the 3rd letter. any one else notice it, or is it just my screen :/

If you all can ascertain that the stuff on the pan is a cake, you're a better man than I. I can't tell what the hell that stuff is, but the dude seems way excited to present it.

I guess it's not totally out of left field. The trailer did show the guests enjoying some kind of Japanese or Asian cuisine. And Rob is moving to Japan. And the whole Slusho angle brings in Japan, with talk of mixing ingredients and so on. And hey, we can't see our wacky chef's left hand. Maybe it's covered in a... ...blue oven mitt!!!!

Here it is: (by the way, I don't think that it was written by a native speaker, because there are some odd syntax uses. He uses some very formal japanese mixed in with very informal.)


Everybody, thank you for viewing! I'll introduce this week's delicious recipe. Please make sure to keep this one cold!

*Skinless chicken breast - 2, cut in halves
*Soumen (a kind of japanese noodle) - 10 oz.
*Watercress - 1/2 cup cut into small strips
*Turnip - 1/2 cup, thinly sliced
*Shiitake (japanese mushrooms) - 1/2 cup
*Chicken stock - 1/3 cup
*Sake (japanese rice wine) - 2 tbsp.
*Sugar - 1/2 tsp.
*Ocean-bottom crab - one

In a small saucepan, stir together 1/3 cup water, chicken stock, sake, and sugar. Chill it until it becomes cold. Grill the chicken breast on both sides for about 8 minutes, and then chill. Boil the noodles for about 3 minutes, and then run under cold water until chilled. Mix the watercress, turnips, and mushrooms into the soumen. Slice the chicken thinly and arrange on top of the soumen mix. Just before you serve, put the crab in the sauce and pour over the noodles generously.

Hmm. Well, the Slusho history does say the secret ingredient has to be kept very cold, so that's similar to this recipe. And there is a crab at the bottom of the Slusho history page. This certainly seems to link to Slusho in some peripheral way at least.
