What about Jiminy Cricket? As far as I know that didn't really pan out as a big clue in the begginning of the riddle. It might be related to the password.

Thank you Derkork, Vixy.net worked on the first try, but theres one catch. In order to edit it, you need to buy a converter program ugh.. does anyone have any suggestions as to a program I can use to edit sound? (this question isnt just for this game, it would actually help me more for Tom Tooman, but it would be helpful for THP too I guess..)

i tried Jiminy Cricket as a PW a while ago... I also tried Pinochio... and Japetto/Gapetto (spelling anyone? help? please?)

Usually what I use to edit sound is Goldwave. To convert it from FLV to AVI, MP3, MPEG, etc I first use a program called "Youtube FLV to avi" then Video Convert Master (To convert avi to other files).

when TDC said "back to the drawing board" , maybe he meant Board.. as in FET Message BOARDS? Could there have been something we either missed in his recent post? Or in Michaels maybe?

This could be just a simple coincidence, but when TDC said "it doesnt hurt to go back to the drawing board", it obviously stuck with me. Now I was just looking at posts from a few days ago and I saw a post of mine where I actually said "Back to the drawing board..lol"... im not sure if anyone else has said it recently, but could he have been referring to that post maybe? Heres the post so you dont have to go looking... It was in response to Nicole correcting me about the next line of the Cat in the Hat..

Heres the old post:

Quote:
thats weird... I couldnt find a full script of the Cat in the Hat, so I googled the line he gave us in the cat file and came up with someones Blog that apparently used just the first two lines, and then added her own ending regarding the cats her husband brought home...lol wow i feel like an idiot.. i just went through 25 ROTs of that damn thing... uggghhhh...so.. the next line is:

"I sat there with Sally.
We sat there, we two."

Back to the drawing board..lol..

As for the word "Translated" after "GEE SAM IS SeXY", so far the only language there has been references to is French (Paris) so I decided to translate the line into french:

LE SAM DE GEE EST SEXY

"Sexy" doesnt have a word in the French language but the word "attractive" is: Attrayant.. probably doesnt apply though.

I looked for anagrams of the French translation, but have yet to see anything of significance..

Now its time to ROT the line:

"I sat there with Sally."

EDIT: Ok.. I tried out all 25 ROTs of "I sat there with sally" on Flikr and as an address on Blogger... funfun.. now I think I'll try the two lines together: "I sat there with sally we sat there we two". WIsh me luck!

EDIT: Nothingggg. Used all 25 ROTs for "Isattherewithsallywesattherewetwo" on Flikr and Blogger.. this is verrry taxing.. The only thing I havent tried is YouTube.. I was savin that for last cuz it was the most unlikely, but seeing as though we're nearing the end of his puzzle "trail".. it may come down to another video by Tom. Ugh.. here goes..

Could he be saying I was right in thinking we need to translate something? And france has been referred to numerous times, so if any language would be used, it would be french. Im gonna fire up babel fish and get to work...

Here's an encouraging e-mail:

Tom,

I have not spoken with you yet, & as far as I know, you do not know me, except perhaps from the FET Forum.

I have been working with some of 'the others' on the videos & other clues that we have had for months. I have been keeping up on what has been going on with you. I am not sure what your intent is, & figured it was about time to open the lines of communication. You seem to be insinuating that you are not necessarily trying to help to 'save' Eric, but that what you are doing has put you in danger, & you aren't fond of the Codemaster.

So, I am currently working on the password for the Hollywood Hills image. I have some ideas, and wanted to run a few questions by you, but thought I should certainly introduce myself first.

I have heard that you have said that the password clue has nothing to do with Dr Seuss, & are you saying that it has nothing to do with the verse "So I sat in the house
All that cold, cold wet day" also, or just dates? (I had been plugging in significant dates). You have said it is not an anagram. So back to the drawing board, eh? I have been revisiting the pages that we have already been to, the INRI page for example, & scrutinizing tags, labels, etc.

My question is, if this has nothing to do with Dr. Seuss, or the quoted verses, is there a clue in the cat.txt document that we should be able to ascertain on our own? Does this have to do with making a choice at this point?

Regards,
rABiD_kittEn

Hello Rabid Kitten,

Very nice to meet you Smile Clearly you are very smart - something you said in your email is absolutely correct regarding the latest password, and is a significant breakthrough Smile I'll leave it up to you and your friends to determine what part of your email I'm talking about. Hopefully we'll be able to chat more in the future...

Sincerely,
Tom

Ive been going over the INRI pics too... to no avail, yet.

Things you may have been right about:

- possibly just the DATES were off base when it comes to the "So I sat in the house.." quote.
- INRI Page in general
- Reexaming Tags
- Reexamining Labels

Seeing as though he said it is NOT an anagram, and all of the tags/labels seem to be related to each picture they came with, I am going to seriously reexamine my whole approach to INRI.

Here is a quick overview of the INRI Pics, solved and posted previously by Nicole:

Quote:
These are all rot 18 in latin:

Photo I:
In terrorem: Latin for "in [order to] frighten," usually one given in hope of compelling someone to act without resorting to a lawsuit or criminal prosecution

Photo R:
Eram quod es, eris quod sum - I was what you are, you will be what I am. (grave inscription)

Photo N:
Deus absconditus - hidden God : God unknowable by the human mind

Photo I:

Altissima quaeque flumina minimo sono labi - The deepest rivers flow with the least sound. (still waters run deep)

Also:

Quote:
The photo titles spell IRNI:
INRI is an acronym of the Latin phrase IESVS NAZARENVS REX IVDÆORVM, which translates to English as: "Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews".

where to begin... good job Rabid BTW, great to have ya back!

EDIT: I missed one thing - Rabid also asked if there was anything we could have missed in the cat.txt file... this COULD lead me back to my original assumption that the word "translated" pertains to something other than "GEE SAM IS SeXY"...

Thanks! I've been around working on ideas, just not a lot of time to post! Too much skoolin'!

Also, notice that there is a possibilty that we are to be making some kind of a choice...
Password to cat.txt= "choice", content= "It will be yours to make."
I mentioned that in the e-mail, too.

He does say on "the stakes" page, with the Ace of Clubs: "how about you? How much are you willing to gamble? The answer to that will determine everything." I'm kicking that around, too.

On another topic, I meant to post this from CM regarding his e-mail being breached by TDC, AND also that DragonBallZ cartoon character in the "Affair" video...

rABiD_kittEn:
Quote:
....In the "Affair" video, the quick clip of what looks like Eric putting something into the trunk of a car with a cartoon character superimposed in the left-hand corner...did you put that in your video? I am thinking that your computer has been hacked by TDC. It is possible that this e-mail will be breached. So be it. We'll see. So far, he hasn't contacted me & doesn't seem to know anything about me.

CM:
Quote:
If you talk to TDC, please keep me updated about your conversations. I put everything in the affair video myself. My computer was breached once, a long time ago, but that's only because I was caught off guard. It will never happen again. If TDC claims he's hacked my computer, he's lying. And I don't think he has time for reading my emails anyway. I think the only thing he's concerned with now is staying alive, and for good reason.

Anyone who crosses my path will have to deal with me eventually. That's a promise Smile

Cheers!
CM

Soooo...who knows as far as his e-mails being leaked or breached, but apparently HE is the one who put the image of Eric & the cartoon character, which blows most of our theories on that. Razz

Two things real quick:

In the solves of the INRI above, if you put the latin phrases in order, the first letter of every phrase spells out: IDEA... not sure if its anything, it didnt work as the code, even when I tried translating it to french.

also, in the CM's response to Rabid he wrote:

Coincidence? or a PM hint?

If the e-mail is from before this part of the puzzle was found, its a coincidence.

This might narrow it down. When I was talking to him before, he said "tom: Nope, it has nothing to do with the Dr. either." So I think we can rule out all Seuss verses not just using the idea of specific dates.

which post? If you are referring to the CM using the word "crosses" it was from a reply Rabid Kitten received from the CM, posted above ^^^^

I agree that it would be an OOG move if the CM were to be throwing us hints, but maybe he just used the word "cross" to get our minds thinking in that direction...like a subliminal message type deal thingymajig

The message from CM was on another topic, & it came on Sept 17. I don't think it is a hint for this PW.

I noticed the post re: Seuss, which is why I asked if it was just the dates he was referring to, but perhaps he was using the verses in another way...but not directing it in a 'Seuss' way...dunno.

I agree about the 'back to the drawing board' comment...if TDC uses that as a point of reference, if from here...the UF forum...it would OOG. I think he is referring to something else. I am thinking cards or artwork, too. Who said who the artist was for the 4th piece? I can't find that. Because the medium there looks most likely to be charcoal or graphite...drawing...(I'm an art major, BTW...might be of some help).

EDIT: Also, he said something was a "breakthrough", (which may be a hint or not), so I am thinking it is something that hasn't been mentioned to him before. It seems the verses & the artwork have been mentioned to him, yes? Or no? If so, this might suggest it has something to do with the choice-making part.

Well I havent mentioned anything specific to Tom, myself. I cant speak for other people. If he were to be referring to these boards when saying "it hasnt been mentioned before" then thats a no-no... so it is possible we discussed the correct answer on these boards, and TDC [HAS to] claims he doesnt know about it.. so in other words, whatever you mentioned to him that happened to be on the right track, COULD have been mentioned ont hese boards inthe past couple of days... did that make sense??

ANyways its GREAT to have someone else helping out on these as actively as the few of us has been. Keep posting people! Even if you think its wrong, post it anyways! it could get someone to think in a new way... hence the "Hivemind" mentality.
