This convinces me that there's some sort of drug element in Slusho!. Who gets a drink put directly into their bloodstream if they can't even taste it? Because that there's something in it which "makes [them] feel young again".

Just grasping at straws here, but maybe it's some sort of anti-aging drug? A bit of a stretch, but maybe the Fountain of Youth?

I'm pretty sure that was intended to be a joke. =)

Hey, ya never know. We've already established that it's addicting, and it apparently makes its drinkers really happy, so it isn't a long jump from that to some sort of hallucinigenic compound.

This is pretty random, but it might figure in at some point...

The Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, at Columbia University in New York (or Jersey - not sure) houses a repository of deep-sea core samples taken around the world. Here are some links:

The general link is: http://www.ldeo.columbia.edu/

and, the Deep Sea Sample Repository link is: http://www.ldeo.columbia.edu/res/fac/CORE_REPOSITORY/RHP1.html

The fact that it houses all those deep sea core samples and it's location made it vaguely interesting.

anyone wondered how they found the locations of the ingredient to drill for?

shot in the dark here - maybe its literal when they say you cant drink just six? those people were given 7 for a reason....so maybe if you do drink six something happens? but what reaction would happen if you had 6 rather than 7?

also.....i would say that the stuff is a never ending source where they drill. simply because none of the platforms have shut down have they? so they must still be getting something from them....

has anyone considered the possibility that the monster was a test subject of the stuff? there is no way they could know the limitations of the stuff (needs to be kept cold etc etc) without testing. maybe they gave it six, and were like....oh god.

i dunno, shitty ideas rly, have ur say.

As far as I know, offshore oil platforms take a hell of a long time before they run dry. And all of the ones mentioned are relatively new, it seems.

I called the number on the contact page... It's in Japanese then in English...

first thing is i think the website is incomplete because most of the links take you back to the start of the webpage so maybe in october the number will take you to a more informative automatic service and the website will expand more. Goodies!! Its like Christmas!

I'm assuming you left a message, right? Sweet, hopefully there'll actually be some interaction now.

petroshow

At first I thought it was a total drag that we'd discovered this site now, so soon after the Pacific Oil Conference. If we'd discovered it a bit earlier and had a man or woman out in Reno, perhaps there would have been some sort of opportunity there, right?

But then it occurred to me that this site was discovered originally via "kaitei no mitsu," which is on the back of the card at 1-18-08 (which led to the menuism thing), and the new card was posted conveniently just after September 20. All of which seems to indicate that we discovered this site exactly when we were supposed to.

no wonder we never found this, it doesn't show up on google, ask.com, or any search engine, even if you put in:

http://Tagruato.jp/

you just get:

Your search - http://tagruato.jp/ - did not match any documents.

Suggestions:

* Make sure all words are spelled correctly.
* Try different keywords.
* Try more general keywords.

ParafFUN! wax distributors???

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paraffin

Quote:
The solid forms of paraffin, called paraffin wax

Quote:
Paraffin liquid: a mixture of heavier alkanes, has a number of names, including nujol, adepsine oil, alboline, glymol, medicinal paraffin, saxol, or USP mineral oil. It is often used in infrared spectroscopy, as it has a relatively uncomplicated IR spectrum. When the sample to be tested is made into a mull (a very thick solution), liquid paraffin is added so it can be spread on the disks to be tested. Liquid paraffin (medicinal) is used to aid bowel movement in persons suffering chronic constipation; it passes through the alimentary canal without itself being taken into the body, but it limits the amount of water removed from the stool. In the food industry, where it may be called "wax", it can be used as a lubricant in mechanical mixing, applied to baking tins to ensure that loaves are easily released when cooked and as a coating for fruit or other items requiring a "shiny" appearance for sale.

Now here is the deal. Why is Ganu interested in wax? There have already been references to liquid bacteria...

It also can help people medically, and be used in the food industry as a lubricant.

This from the Slusho! subsidiary page
Quote:
A search is on for top marketing professionals who will be tasked with duplicating the drink's Asian popularity in the Western market.

would finally seem to legitimize the speculation that Rob may be going to work for Slusho.
