Ive been sick, and i've been trying to get some rest and you guys come up with all this stuff good job. Im sorry for the length of this post, and sorry, its a little off topic.
I was gonna breack down Be@rbrick's post piece by piece and give my thoughts on it but im too sick, ill just make it short and sweet. Nobody but Be@rbrick should feel offended by this. We dont need to hear the political views of flaming liberals people here on this thread. We are the superior race of animals. We take because we can. We were made to. We are the only animals that develope technologies, such as cures to illness. We do a lot of bad yes, but much more good is done. "companies over-exploiting the environment high level of consumer demand and the ultimate side-effect of greed and excess" Yes, this has been going on for years, and its not the corperations' fault. You know whose fault it is? No you dont cause you want to stay blind to your own hypocriticalness. Its our fault. We are the ones to blame. Consumers. We consume and they provide. We are the idiots. Again sorry for the tangent.[/b]

I completely agree it should be served cold. Wink

At the sushi bar me and my wife frequent, the bar itself is chilled by refrigeration equipment. Very Happy

Yet in the teaser no attempt is visible to keep it chilled (ie. ice cubes, dry ice, etc.) Confused

I/d/k - Just seems like if the hors d'œuvre did indeed contain kaitei no mitsu, some greater attempt could be viewed to keep it chilled , as to maintain the preservation and effect of the exclusive ingredient. Embarassed

Clues in the title
Perhaps?

There might be something in all the "Rumored" Titles, I think JJ's crew might be purposely putting the rumors out, There was Monstous, then overnight and now wreck, heres a quote from bloody disgusting

Get more Cloverfield (Untitled JJ Abrams Project) news

I can pretty much guarantee that by us reporting this, it will either be denied or changed - again. We learned exclusively here at Bloody-Disgusting that JJ Abrams' monster movie was in fact going to be titled "Monstrous", but was changed the second it hit the web (man we all gossip way too much!) Now it's our turn to ruin a possible title for the Matt Reeves' helmed giant monster movie, which wrapped last month in Los Angeles and New York… the title just might be……….

Now if thats true, then maybe theres clues in the titles. Overnight fits, it happens overnight, obvious. Monstrous, theres more to it then you think, if its Monstrous, the "Thing" that is attacking New York. Then it would have to be new, not just some rare animal, But a true monster. it would be as much of a normal animal as godzilla was just a lizard. And Wreck, something would have to crash... I don't think its happened yet, but if it does, I bet you Tagruato will have something on it. If it does, Then i'm right. Any other idea's?

In Japanese, mikan is a general term for citrus and is equated to a mandarine.
Nashi can be equated to a Japanese pear.

Mikan is a type of Orange something more like a clemintine. Nashi is an asian Pear. Round and yellow/greenish. I love Nashi I cant get enough of them.

Well we knew all of that. Of course Tagruato will have to do something in the movie, otherwise they wouldn't stress it so much, what with the deep sea drilling and Ganu :-p

Don't restate the obvious Laughing

No I mean
ok, try it again

What I mean is, If you look at the myspace stuff, everything is happening in real time, in their fictional world, its the exact same time and date as it is right now, I think before the movie comes out, theres going to be a wreck, Before 1-18-08, I think the title Wreck, is to give us a heads up that a Wreck is going to occur, I don't know when, but I think it will. I think the Title Monstrous is a clue that the "Thing" Is not any form of normal animal, any more than Godzilla is a form of lizard. I think the Movie titles are part of the clue, to tell us more about the movie.... I still have no idea about the cheese or oven mitt though... Thats gotta be randomness for the sake of randomness... Question unless the monster attacks with an oven mitt...? But by monster I mean, the giant squid is a form of squid, the great whale is a form of whale. They Are big, but they are still normal animals, Whereas the monster in the movie, is Really a monster, but it may be that its sleeping, and something wakes it up on 1-18-08. Maybe the wreck? any thoughts?

I was explaining a possible cause for the monster to attack NYC by looking to real animals as example. One that would fall into a more scientific realm as opposed to mythic. Afterall, bears don't just attack people for no reason.

I wasn't the first person in this thread to surmise that JJ's reference to an "American" monster was a metaphor for social issues. I was mearly hypothosizing as to what JJ might be getting at as what I described fits with the facts that we have. I don't know JJs political views, nor do I care, but I certainly wasn't expressing my "liberal" views. That's on you taking something the wrong way. I'm not here to discuss politics. Way to jump to conclusions!!!!

No but humans dont just attack other humans either for no reason. Everything is done for a reason. you are right about two things:
1. It (the monster)will be more scientific
2. I jumped to conclusions, and im probaly right.

You're right about humans not attacking other humans for no reason. What I meant was we are the only species that kills for reasons other than food (human history is overflowing with examples). A wild animal wouldn't just attack NYC for the sake of attacking unless its food source was disrupted (possibly by Chuai Station) and it was forced to forage elsewhere (NYC) for its food supply (the secret ingredient), which is found in Slusho, is now popular in NYC.
