 		Hey I lost the link to the Deciphering page that Matron sent me, with the Vigenere using numbers (forget the name) tool. Anyone have it? Itd be alot of help, thanksya


EDIT: Nm, found it.

EDIT: Was there anything else Brent said that went along with the message?


as for the code, it believe its safe to say that "midrnvav.bct" is "_______.com"


And its not a cryptogram... unless of course the message contains state abbreviations such as NY, CO.. etc..heh..

Im guessing Vigenere/Gronsfeld Ciphers..

as for the 89.. verse 8 line 9? book 8 page 9? Line 89?

seeing as though it contains a .com or .net, I doubt its a quote from the big book.. unless JC got the hookup on a sweet internet deal back in the days of crucifixions and saints..

No, he didn't, just said that he found it on the Mary page. Considering he was hiding out in the woods (and is currently in an old friend's garage) he doesn't have access to a scanner, so text is all we get now.

Got an IM from a cop investigating a missing persons case of one Brent Ambroise... heres the convo with the cop:

SeattleWAPD: A Brent Ambroise, I have seen that you have been in contact with him.
SeattleWAPD: He has been missing for near a week and you have been known to have been in contact with him.
SeattleWAPD: Is it alright if I ask a few questions?
Sm00thwun: of course
SeattleWAPD: When was the last time you have seen Mr. Ambroise?
Sm00thwun: not for a while actually, I was starting to get worried myself
Sm00thwun: not for at least a week and a half maybe?
SeattleWAPD: And you have had no form of contact with him in that alloted time frame?
Sm00thwun: not since then sir
SeattleWAPD: Do you have any possible idea what could have happened to him?
Sm00thwun: no sir, no idea.. we usually chat online and suddenly he just vanishes
SeattleWAPD: Can you elaborate?
Sm00thwun: well.. he has been worried about someone recently
Sm00thwun: someone that may have been after him..
SeattleWAPD: Can you describe this someone?
Sm00thwun: well hes European.. Italian specifically I believe.. but he isnt after Brent.. he is after something that has been hidden for a long time... a family treasure of sorts.
SeattleWAPD: So there is someone who might have wanted something from Brent?
Sm00thwun: Well yeah I guess you could say that.. he wanted knowledge.
SeattleWAPD: What kind of knowledge Michael?
Sm00thwun: Knowledge of the whereabouts of his family treasure
Sm00thwun: Brent had thought it to be just a legend at first.. but as time went on it became more and more real
SeattleWAPD: Family treasure?
SeattleWAPD: This seems a bit hard to believe.
SeattleWAPD: Knowingly giving false information to a police officer is a crime you know.
Sm00thwun: yeah, we thought so too.
Sm00thwun: hey, you came to me Officer Hughs, Im telling you what I know
SeattleWAPD: Hughes. Now, can you remember your last conversation with Mr. Ambroise?
Sm00thwun: not specifically.. but like i said before.. he vanished all of a sudden so it was probably a normal conversation
Sm00thwun: he never said he was going anywhere
Sm00thwun: can I ask you a question?
SeattleWAPD: Yes.
Sm00thwun: I find it rather odd that you havent bothered to ask me the name of the man after Brent.. wouldnt that be your main focus, rather than what Brent said to me before he left?
SeattleWAPD: My focus is to understand and log any information regarding his possible whereabouts.
Sm00thwun: you have to understand my reluctance..
Sm00thwun: up until about two weeks ago, brent had people signing onto his myspace, and AIM... trying to trick us into telling them stuff about his activities, etc
SeattleWAPD: Strange.
SeattleWAPD: Are you saying he was possibly hacked?
Sm00thwun: not possibly, definitely
Sm00thwun: i, along witha few others, tricked this imposter into revealing themselves
Sm00thwun: it turned out to be a low level thug working for a very rich and powerful man named Gianluca
Sm00thwun: Gianluca basically said Brent wouldnt be safe if he entered europe to look for his family treasure..
SeattleWAPD: Do you think he might have something to do with Mr. Ambroise's disappearance?
Sm00thwun: I think it is definitely something to look into..
SeattleWAPD: I have it all written down.
SeattleWAPD: Do you remember about what time it was when you talked to him last?
Sm00thwun: hold on, ill check..it was around the time of my last message sent to him on myspace..lemme look.
Sm00thwun: September 1st, around 1:30 PM
Sm00thwun: wow, longer ago than I expected
Sm00thwun: I appologize, it looks like hes been gone a bit longer than I had originally calculated..
SeattleWAPD: According to my information he disappeared on the 21st of September.
Sm00thwun: oh, ok then.. I guess I must have missed him since sept. 1st to the 21.. ive also had alot of things going on myself.. i took a hiatus from the computer for a bit..
SeattleWAPD: You have had no contact with him since the first then, correct?
Sm00thwun: that is correct
Sm00thwun: what do you think happened to him, sir? Im a bit worried
SeattleWAPD: I am not sure.
SeattleWAPD: He may have run away from home, that is the usual case with teenagers.
SeattleWAPD: Maybe he was in fact taken from his home, but we really have no suspects.
Sm00thwun: Not him.. he wouldnt just run away for no reason..
Sm00thwun: he has a girlfriend. he wouldnt leave her.
SeattleWAPD: I have spoken to her as well.
SeattleWAPD: She seemed pretty upset but she says they have not been in as much contact as they had in months before.
Sm00thwun: that goes along with what i was telling you.. about his problems with gianluca..
Sm00thwun: this guy really had brent worried
SeattleWAPD: Do you have a full name that I can look up?
Sm00thwun: no.. we never got a full name.. but apparently hes a very rich and powerful man in Italy i believe
Sm00thwun: im sure someones heard of him over there..
SeattleWAPD: Thank you. I'll be sure to search for him and ask him questions as well.

now, the whole time I was talkin to the cop, I had been talking to Brent, trying to feel him out to see if this cop was legit.. there were two times during this convo, where I c&p'd a part of the convo telling brent it maybe a setup. Both times, Brent responded with - "Sounds like usual cop lingo"... this leads me to believe thisi s supposed to be a real (IG) cop... not an imposter sent by Gianluca..

 		Brent has given me the heads-up that I may also hear from this cop - as of this moment in time, I have not, but we'll see.

Also, he also said if he doesn't hear from Matron soon, he's running away again. If he doesn't get a hold of internet, he says he'll give me a phone call. Seeing as how I'll be on a cell phone and very likely won't be at home when I get this phone call, I won't be able to record it for you all, but I'll gladly try my best to transcribe any calls (I will carry paper in my purse if I must) and post them online when I get home.

"midrnvav.bct" might not be a ".com" encryption. It could be some file extension (.jpg?) or even a typo in the translation ('midrnvav' could be the end of the sentence, and 'bct' starts the next?)

All of the double letters stand out to me. 'ee', 'oode', 'frr', 'ahh' ... weird.

The Vigenere key that works best for this is "daia", which produces:

 		Good job Rogi.. maybe the rest of the puzzle needs to be solved with a different cipher? Either that, or its a Gronsfeld, passphrase + number are needed (Brents usual code).

 		So we're back to Europe again. I haven't seen Brent all day, and I haven't heard from Matron in longer, so part of me thinks he's moving along again now or very soon. I haven't gotten any phone calls from strange washington numbers yet, but we'll see.

We have to be sure to pass along this information, and keep trying to solve the rest of the puzzle.

I guess so.. if its anywhere itll be on or near the border between Spain and France.. possibly near the coordinates we recieved earlier in the game?
