 		 Collaborative Synopsis (potential monster's name spoiler)
Tagruato's greed, consumer gluttony, and what's "born again"...
* Rumor has been circulating by a source whose authenticity cannot be confirmed (Remedios).

Apparrently the name of the monster will be...

RENATUS

The etymology of the name is late Latin meaning "born again".


On a seperate note, I'm having fun putting together some theoretical speculation based on the flood of new information the Tagruato website has provided.

I was hoping for some collaborative participate...

It seems Slusho! just markets the driving force of the film...a relentless attempt to monopolize and exploit a new and miraculous "cure-all" for mankind, kaitei no mitsu (or seabed honey).

It's properties are studied and implemented into every facet of modern technology and life causing the growing subsidiaries of the Tagruato Corp. and unheard of wealth. The likes of which parallel's the most successful petroleum oil tycoons.

The drilling platforms, I speculate, extract this newly found crude "fossil fuel" for the human body as well as petroleum oil. Due to the seabed honey's fantastic properties in terms of health, etc., and the addictive consumerism that ensues, kaitei no mitsu becomes something that mankind cannot live without.

Their is great profits to be made from this evidenced by all the patents and exclusivity of the research, application technologies, and the equipment the Tagruato Corp. uses for it's extraction from untapped, sub-prehistoric deep sea levels. As well as the unequivocal financial incentive for those who choose to assign their career loyalty to Tagruato.

But as oil was discovered and gave way to an industrial revolution that mankind did not calculate the consequences of (global warming, war, etc.)...the result of the invasive course of events leading to the exploitation of the "secret ingredient" will reflect similar and ironic catastrophe.

The effects of which will shake all of mankind.

I like the idea of a potential archeological discovery caused by the Tagruato Corp. while drilling...and this discovery being "reborn" into our times.

 		FYI, "Remedios" is synonymous with bullshit*. Not sure where you're getting "RENATUS" from, but the likeliest sites aren't registered.

You might as well have gotten it from the National Enquirer. Hell, the ENQUIRER is more reliable than those dedicated hoaxers and fakers.

Thanks for the heads up on the remedios character Wink (or the character of remedios Razz ).
I'll not put much stock into his "theories" & "insights".

I did notice the domains remain available for the "supposed" name of the monster.
I don't think it was stated it's name would be the movie title...
but you'd assume "the powers that be" would park the domain (name) of America's new monster regardless.
They've parked plenty of others w/ relevancy.

Nah...there just (for the most part) a younger crowd than Unfiction forums. Wink

Though, comparatively, their forums are less sophisticated and seem less informative, they're generally harmless and amusing.
It appears a much less competitive arena.

1-18-08 posters display a lower level of arrogance, generally, than found on many other other forums.
It may be that because they don't take the hype and experience of the Cloverfield project as seriously, potentially due to the age gap, a lot less flaming takes place on 1-18-08News.

They seem more dedicated to reading/writing comics and console gaming than dissecting the clues that are leading to 1-18-08.
I wouldn't consider them "hoaxers and fakers" though.

But what the hell do I know... Rolling Eyes
I just try to get along w/ everybody.

Albeit, try not to take this as a smoosh…
I've read a number of your posts brettoniasasm, and I've found them to be among some of the most insightful.
Typically well thought out and very enjoyable reads. Kudos.

I'd appreciate any continuation of the synopsis in the OP from anybody w/ time. Very Happy

1-18-08news is the Weekly World News of this movie. It's kinda cute at times, but it should never, EVER be taken seriously. Ever. (ever)
