As confirmed by SLake, Ms. Church's ancestor is Benjamin Church.
Quote:
[19:49] <SLake> Watch my status. I think a mutual friend's idea will work.
[19:49] <Rowan> I was kinda curious if Ms. Church's ancestor knew the Gage's as well.
[19:50] <SLake> the Gages?
[19:50] <Rowan> Specifically Sir Thomas Gage.
[19:52] <Rowan> He fought in the Revoluationary War. Was well known by George Washington, I believe.
[19:52] * SLake grins.
[19:52] <SLake> So you think you've found him? Give him a name.
[19:52] <Rowan> Benjamin Church
[19:52] * SLake nods
[19:53] <SLake> Look through his history. You'll see.
[19:53] <Rowan> He was a spy. Are you inferring Ms. Church is one as well?
[19:53] <SLake> I'm inferring her motives are questionable.
[19:55] <SLake> my status will lead you a bit further if you can add it to my site.
[19:55] <SLake> I must be going...
[19:55] * SLake has quit IRC (Quit: What? You wanted a clue here?)
Here is some more info on Ben Church (I think this is a different site than Myssfitz's)
Quote:
Benjamin Church
Benjamin Church was a member of both the Provincial Congress of Massachusetts and a member of the Sons of Liberty rebel organization along with other patriot leaders such as John and Samuel Adams, Paul Revere and John Hancock. However Benjamin Church was really a paid spy for the British general, Sir Thomas Gage. Six weeks before the battle of Lexington, Church sent Gage letters detailing hidden military and political secrets of the American rebel forces (these letters can also be found at the William L. Clements Library in the Sir Thomas Gage Collection). In October of 1775, one of Church's spy letters to Gage was captured and delivered to General Washington. Church was arrested, stood trial for treason and imprisoned until 1777. After his release, Church sailed to West Indies in a schooner that disappeared at sea.
So now we just need to know what to do with this.
BTW: Great minds think alike Myssfitz! I didn't even see your post until after I came back to post this.

Ahh, I didn't check his status on YIM, only on IRC. Thanks Ram.
Edit: The ISBN # is for Dan Brown: The Da Vinci Code.
Thanks to Bill, here are the last names on page 216:
Langdon, Teabing, Fache, Faukman
2nd Edit: ok, the ISBN # is actually for the US Edition - Paperback -489 pages version from here so these names may not be correct.

DaVinci Code I don't think will be be of much help to us, but just in case.
This was a web puzzle for The Da Vinci Code book.
The parchment on the page translates to:
"The truth will be told in 2003"
Go to the page below...
http://www.randomhouse.com/cgi-bin/robertlangdon/rl_key.cgi
and type "ankh" and press enter.
You are taken to
http://www.randomhouse.com/cgi-bin/robertlangdon/rl_key.cgi#
Which has the key to solve the prophecy
Type "The truth will be told in 2003" and press enter
You are taken to
http://www.randomhouse.com/cgi-bin/robertlangdon/rl_key.cgi
Which has a phone number 212-782-9932
When you call the author of The Da Vinci code, Dan Brown, congratulates you for solving the puzzle and says he's working on his next "Robert Langdon" book.
I don't know how any of this helps us with Alecia Church

In Lake's chat with rowan, he says...
Quote:
<SLake> my status will lead you a bit further if you can add it to my site.
So I'm guessing there's something to be found at
http://www.landau-luckman-lake.com/
once we figure out which last name to use.

According to the picture on the above listed site, this is the Large Print Paperback edition (although it doesn't say that in the book description). If it is the Large Print edition, it would explain the extra 35 pages.
*EDIT*
According to the Random house site it is just the export edition paperback.

There's a new status message by landau_luckman_lake on YIM.
(0385513224=0375432302=0385504209)
All three are ISBN #s for "The Da Vinci Code"
We all ready had the first one for the paperback.
0375432302 hardcover in large print
0385504209 hardcover
I guess he's saying their all the same, or that it doesn't matter.

Yea! We got it! Thanks Saucey! SLake has told us through many different status changes that Paperback and Hardcover versions are the same. And I can also say that the paperback and the hardcover versions of Angels & Demons (another book by the same guy) have the exact same page numbers.
Slake gave us a big hint in one of his status changes: "3 Hours 34 Minutes - She always had a choice." (5/11/2004 8:29 PM)
Hints to Sophie's Choice. So the answer is centered around Sophie [Neveu].
More hints in #L3 by Slake. He starts talking about phone extensions and how he can't stand them. This gives us the hint that there is no extension on the answer.
Saucey FINALLY comes up with the answer: www.landau-luckman-lake.com/sophie
Not a last name at all. But as Bill pointed out, it's the last FIRST name on the page.
This page is it's own little puzzle which I will put in the puzzle section. I'll put a link here when I get it up. *Edit: Here is the link.

I'm a little confused here. Where did we *first* get the name Alicia from?
*EDIT*
From the name of the wav file. Is this right?
