[Future Update]Slusho kits are in store? Also information reveals an expected update to Tagruato, mid-october Well, first of all, I posted this in the tagruato thread, but to be honest, every important post anyone makes is being lost in a quickly growing thread.
And I felt this diserved it's own topic.
I quote from the tagruato website:
Quote:
The company is currently working on the Slusho! Sea Freeze, a frozen pop that will be available for purchase in your local market and will contain the company's healthy special ingredient. The product will compliment the Make Your Own Slusho! kit already on market shelves.
This news was released on the 28th of May, 2007, so it is quite likely that the "Sea freeze pop" is already on shelves, as well as the "Make your Own Slusho! Kit"
Now what I want to know is that if anyone in Japan out there, where it is most likely these products were released (they said they were working on marketing to the western world, but it wasn't completely done yet), to check in their nearest grocery store for this.
Good luck.
----------------
By the way another quote from the tagruato website says that it will be updated mid-october, so stay sharp for something new!
Quote:
Ganu Yoshida is set to meet with Tanzanian Energy Correspondent, Gamal Mobari in mid-October to discuss the potential for mineral excavation on the Tanzanian coast.
At a recent press conference, Yoshida had this to say: "Tanzania's coast houses a plentiful supply of minerals that are pivotal in the production of many of today's medical necessities. Our company would like to explore these possibilities in hopes of providing better service to our loyal customers and opening yet another door on our path to the future."

I'm pretty sure such a kit doesn't actually exist... and is simply padding for a site that is there to help develop the reality of the movie.

But they also talked about marketing slusho T-shirts and Baseball caps in the western world.
I'll find the quote, but I'm sure the kits and slushos are either going to be released or are already released.
It's something to keep an eye on.

Yes, and they can be bought by people through the Slusho.jp drink page... it doesn't mean we'll actually see Slusho kits.

I know that they can be bought via the slusho store, meaning if they actually sold those it's likely they'll sell other stuff they mention.
Again, it's something to keep an eye on (it might also be sold in Japan).

Although it's extremely possible Slusho! brand happy drinks and freeze pops may surface, there's certainly a greater degree of difficulty when merchandising perishables and such. FDA approval and the likes.
Yet, it was done w/ the Apollo bar (although the candy bar was pre-existent (purchased) and wrapped for specific marketing purposes).
Nonetheless, if they become available, I'll buy buy one...
Er...I guess probably seven

I think the obvious marketing move would be to hook up with 7-11 (i.e. Slushee = Slusho!)
Kinda doubt the marketing is going to be that gigantic for the movie though.

You know what would be funny?
They do sell them, but they make it so that us argers really can't drink just six. Maybe you have to buy like, all six flavors + a mystery flavor or something to get all of some sort of information. it would make sense.

even if they did promo sales of slusho, i doubt somehow that it would taste anything like the description put about on in game websites, where it claimed to give ppl a good feeling and such like. Ppl wil probably be saying "do i have to drink six"
i doubt the slusho kits will be on sale, but the t-shirts and whatnots i can see being a bit marketing campaign.

Yeah, I've always suspected they'll pull an "Apollo Bar"...just as that candy was actually sold in stores, I fully expect to see the Slusho drinks show up in 7-Elevens sometime soon.
And I hope to god they don't turn me into a giant whale. But then again...it could be fun.

Ever since the Slusho! thing came about I've been reminded of the Slurpee being renamed the Slushee for The Simpsons Movie promotion. That actually gave me a particularly ornery idea...
McDonald's didn't come up with "MickeyD's", that's a popular nickname people had for it and they eventually embraced it. I think it'd be an interesting demonstration of just how many and pervasive we in this online movie market are if we insisted on calling ALL fozen soft drinks Slusho. Just imagine what it'd be like when people ask what it is, or when you first hear someone ELSE refer to it that way. I can't think of a better way to promote this movie and this site.
As for a drink making you 'feel good' - look at Coca-Cola and 7up. Coca mash (essentially unrefined cocaine) and lithium were in those, respectively. People thought nothing of it, and the makers found it to be an excellent ingredient. We sure know better about messing with those substances casually now, don't we?

While that is true, it seems this time the people who are using the secret ingredient are aware of it's effect, both good and bad, on those who drink it.
The cocain and lithium seemed to be caused by ignorance of the harm, and wasn't used towards a relatively "evil" goal.

Whether or not slusho is sold, I highly doubt itll be sold in japan. So far, this appears to be a mainly English thing, and I cant see them suddenly forcing people to have to go to japan or something along those lines.
