Rocket Scientists

I am convinced that you are all Rocket Scientists.....

Cher is me. I was trying to think of a name to use if we had to contact matius.wolf on SKYPE....you like? And I was also mad at twitter because I was not getting half of the messages. I just found the one about surf's website last night (and it was sent on Sept 11)!

anyways: I think we need to check heavenisasecret, because I just got this:

Didn't you get the memo from last night? :innocent:

So did you subscribe? Our waiting room needs some reading material. Very Happy

And even though we're rocket scientists, it's kind of apparent we spent way too much time partying and barely managed to graduate at the bottom of our class.

Just goes to show...we will follow any lead, no matter how dumb it makes us look.

Your work is its own reward...or something.

We need better (read: wealthy) clients.

hmm

I found the problem.. We're working for a dead guy.. they don't have revenue.. I called the IRS and asked.. they agreed.. no revenue... they said they weren't sure how we would go about billing him either...

Maybe we need to track down his aunt.. We could bill her!!!!!

Low Life, ??? the author is Luc Sante
Quote:
"Low Life: Lures and Snares of Old New York" tells the story of New York's Lower East Side, circa 1840-1920. The personal histories of criminals, prostitutes, losers, and swindlers bring to life the social and statistical history that the author has meticulously researched. Not limiting himself to the usual sources, Sante finds his history in old copies of Police Gazette as well as actual police, fire, and social service records. Above all, what really makes this book work is the writing, which brings to life a culture of the streets that continues to form a silent influence on our contemporary popular culture.

Books

I posted a list of the books on wordpress, with a little about each one.
I don't think those will lead us anywhere...it may just be to give us a little insight to APs personality. Type of books/DVDs he likes, hates loud neighbors, and forgets easy things: like buying fireworks (3 days after 4th of July?)

Why don't we find a 'secure' website to communicate with RT, instead of suggesting that he make a new site (since that will take him weeks)? Keep the ball in our court, so to speak.

Edit: because I forgot to mention how much I hate twitter in the last five seconds.

Well, we could invite RT to post in a password protected comment section in response to posts at Surf's website.

He wrote this as a "Note to Self" but he sent it out expecting other people to find it...something doesn't add up.

Other things about the list of items: the books are listed in all caps. The movies and music are properly capitalized. Could be some sort of cipher. Plus we have sporadic parentheticals. And intermittent dates. Only one book has a year. One says "when it comes out," that date is actually 8/2/07. One book, as surf noted, is for 1840-1920. Only one song mentions a year: 1966. Fitting that it's called Goodyear...

Not to mention that in 1966 Frank Sinatra released a song called "It's a good year" about all the women he's loved through various periods times of his life (perverts). Possibly just a coincidence, but apropos for AP: a dude hung up on women (not just Karianne, but also Cathy's availability and Matius being a "lothario").

How about orkut? It looks the same as any other place. It has a scrapbook, that anyone can post on.
and this made me LOL:

User Identity
Since orkut.com is meant to foster open interactions between real people, we require users to meet basic identity standards. Accounts should only be created by the person being depicted, and all users must be alive and at least 18 years old.

Source Code
<br />

I found multiple instances of the "left arrow.br.space.forward slash.right arrow" coding in the page source but its use is erratic. (unforums to their credit won't allow the above code because its invalid.. so its written out.. true example is in subject description)
A page explaining it can be found at http://www.cs.tut.fi/~jkorpela/html/empty.html.

However, I have as of yet still not been able to confirm if this is an anomaly of wordpress or if it was written into the code by "AP".

Anyone that thinks they might have insight please feel free to post your ideas.
Thank You,
~Just another Cipher Monkey

here's a dumb question (arent they all?)

So, AP has a list of music he wants, WHEN HE GETS ACCESS to ITUNES...but this is WHILE HE IS ON THE INTERNET TYPING A NOTE TO HIMSELF. Which = ACCESS to Internet/Itunes. ??

'Splain that. And, where is all of APs stuff? Computer? Cell phone? DVD player? Manuscript?

hehe Laughing Laughing Laughing

ETA: AP did say he needed to find "better access," so he had some dirt-bag dialup--Compuserve-style 2800 baud, but he needed the high speed to get his "itunes." I'm not sayign anything, but I've learned a little about the internets from Avenue Q. Wink
