[CONTACT] SLake on #l3, May 13

Summary: Mr Lake is angry that people emailed Alecia Church.
Quote:
<SLake> I expected you to THINK.
<SLake> I expected you to watch.
<SLake> I expected you to listen.

He wants us to find out which people emailed Ms Church. He was also upset that he was the last to know about the Elias/Sandy accusations.
Eventually he concluded that
Quote:
<SLake> Now if you don't mind. I need to sleep. So i can try and figure out if I want to resign L3 as legal respresentation for Ideltech.

YIM with Steve Lake

FYI : here is the log of me trying to get Steve Lake to talk to us. Drizjr whio is a born diplomat was on YIM also feeding me lines to give Steve.

Nothing much of interest that isn't covered above. Mostly me groveling.. and it's sad to read. My only good line:

Quote:
landau_luckman_lake: Unfair? My recommendation to Marcus was to fire the lot of you. Since you are his friend he didn't seem to listen to me.
sbrose711: well, he can;'t fire me
sbrose711: I don't work for him

EDIT: to add and explain. The log begins with me yammering at Mr. Lake to talk to me. I knew he was there, but ignoring us, because he changed the topic of his YIM message just before I tried to reach him. Otherwise, I wouldn't have bothered.

I reckon the next time he has a lash out at someone, one of us needs to put him in his place, and if I'm ever there for it, I'll do it or help someone else do it. Of course, it would simply be to see what his reaction would be to one of us standing up to him with a little aggression.

Triple, I don't have a log and I'm not sure if it's in the log above, but I did lash out at "Mr. Lake" (but it had nothing to do with the character).

That's all I feel I need to say about that subject...

Yes, I read the log, but I'm talking in a psychological kind of way. When people are being attacked (well, not attacked, but being talked to in a hard way) they get nervous and sometimes divulge more information than they need to and whoever is there typing as SLake seems like the sort of person who COULD fold under pressure. I don't just mean to have a go at him for the hell of it, there is always a reason.

I for one can certainly understand Mr. Lakes anger. I think we are forgetting that this is RL for the characters. We have to think more in terms of TINAG. If we were really working for a company that was being threathened we wouldn't go off helter skleter and start emailing the person threatening our employer and demand information.

No, I am not saying we shouldn't send emails, I'm just saying we need to be more diplomatic in our approach. There are times when patience will give us our reward. We just need to stop and think before we jump in full steam ahead. Just my 2 cents.

That wasn't my impression. Fury was the feeling I got from him. Look, it took a lot of effort and time for driz and me to get him to talk to us at all.
I would appreciate not having to do that again.

I know that I sent an email to Ms. Church, so I am guilty, but who else did?

I was careful to use only publically available information but still I had a cover story planned if she came back and asked : "How did you find me and my site" that didn't involved Ideltech or Steve Lake. I was going to claim an inside source at the department of defense.

So far the characters have been readily accessible for the most part because they were seeking us. But, she has no interest or need for us and, as you can see from her threatening response to me, she will attack.

What I don't quite understand is why people don't see why he was so angry? We, the players, really screwed this up. And I point mainly to myself as culpable in this.
