Simple fact remains that the HTML document Colby first sent us was indeed altered. He changed the profile picture and where it was linked to but he forgot to change the block user link among others that led us back to his friends page. I'm not saying that he never did recieve the original e-mail but the html he sent us is blatantly altered. As far as photoshopping goes, all one would need to do to is alter the html document iwith a couple of cut and pastes, then type up the message contents, then screenshot it. No photoshopping required.

yeah I'm moving toward being convinced that it was a hoax. He got into it pretty deep though eh? (with photoshopping and editing HTML and what not). Seems like a lot of work for a relatively small break through- people have talked to the MS characters before.
It would be good if an admin could clear out all his posts on the tagruato thread so we can see what was canon and posted concurrently

Re: Colbyrook- I am not a game Jacker Can someone please explain this to me?

I don't know why the html file is what it is.... the only explanation I can offer is that I copied parts from two messages..... martin also sent me a message earlier that day, gloating to me about his blog. Geez I'm glad that thats been broadcast to everyone. Anyway, I had lots of firefox source code boxes open yesterday, copying stuff, and did copy the div message tag separately, I think. Maybe I opened the source code for his message, and copied parts of that instead… I don't know.
then he says:

No I didn't photoshop anything, or edit the HTML file.... I dont know how to...
Did he contradict himself? He was messing with coding earlier which he admited, but down at the bottom he says he wouldn't know how to do that to someones page? He knows enough to copy the div from message tags and have source code boxes open. A person who wouldn't know how to "do that" wouldn't have a reason to have so many source codes open let alone one.

Sounds fishy. Although copying/pasting html and actually editing tags are different. I do Website Encoding as part of Software Developing course at tech. He would have had to have found the div tag and known what it was to paste Rob's message over Martin's; he must have some experience.

Actually I don't believe he did do any photoshopping and as far as the html document goes he could have edited all the links to match Rob's and remove the "input type="hidden" id="spamBody" name="spamBody" value="Message ID: 61592352" which none of us would have even noticed missing.
There are many many divs used on a myspace message page. He would have to know at least something to cut and paste two messages together.

Yeah it's not exactly something that happens by accident- its more than just a ctrl+C, ctrl+V keyboard slip-up.

But of course, through a series of unlucky events, he could be telling the truth and have somehow mixed up the two htmls. I'm not sure we can know for sure.
But pretty much all evidence (including comments that rob has posted) seem to point to it being a fake.

Not to mention the fact that the user pic and the message contents are in two seperate divs. Actually it appears the user pic sits in a table defined just above the message content div.

I doubt Colby is telling the truth... I doubt anyone is THAT unlucky.

Yeh I know, its highly unlikely. But im not going to count it out as a possibility. One thing that bothers me is that...well, its just such an a**holish thing to do, and I'd like to think that people like that don't post on this forum.

mmmmm... I guess it could be possible, though VERY unlikely. Welcome to the real world... people like this are everywhere.
