If "War of the Worlds" and "Independence day" were about alien attacks, why is everyone so convinced that this film is not along the same lines, but more realistic? "War of the Worlds" even had the aliens buried underground. Why is everyone so opposed to this movie having anything to do with aliens? At this point I think a plot about an extraterrestrial monster awakened after being buried under the sea is the most logical choice.

I don't think it's that people don't think it's (or want it to be) an alien, the argument is weather or not someone SAYS it's an alien in the teaser.

Personally I've watched the teaser dozens of times, and haven't heard anything but "I saw it! It's Alive It's Huge". I've even tried to hear what others claim to have heard, and still hear only what is actually in the teaser.

I don't care if it's an alien or not, but that doesn't appear to be what is said in the teaser; not even remotely.
