Silly Google

Well, while continuing my search for the physical location (even if it's a fake), of Tagruato in Japan, I was able to zoom in on Marunouchi, but Google Maps likes to keep everything local, so it's in Japanese... with no option to translate....

On the plus-side, there's a 7-11 there... Confused

Everything is run it seems by Godaddy, Maybe if we come up with some $$$ I can go into there office here in Scottsdale and bribe them to give us some info? Or come up with my bail money so I can sneak in there in case I get caught ....lol

Also maybe those links on Tagruato will be working in November.

The website for the company is up now, and Satoshi tells me it will be finished by November of this year. I never thought I would be making money off of Mother's little soda venture, let alone selling T-shirts! It is a strange and wonderful new day.

Yours,
G.Y.

People from Tagruato

Out of sheer boredom, I went through the Tagruato website and assembled a list of IG names. Maybe the same could be done from the Myspace pages, but I'm not THAT bored... Smile

Ganu Yoshida, CEO of Tagruato Corp. (cousin to Danno)
Danno Jo, COO of Tagruato Corp. (cousin to Ganu)

Suzanne Soga, company Spokeswoman
Kano Yasuri, head of investor relations
Rafu Funaki, chair of Future Energy Development Committee

Botan Ajibana, engineer, Kaika drilling station
Kita Ijichi, floor manager, Sujin drilling station

Dr. Hiro Takahashi, scientist, Yoshida Medical Research
Akemi Takahashi, wife of Hiro Takahashi

Kimi, dancer/singer, member of the Slusho! Smilers!
Fudo Goto (age 11), first baseman, Tagruato Lions
Mazakuzo Endo, pitcher, Tagruato Lions

* * *
And, here are some non-Tagruato people/organizations:

Geoff Jingle, Coach, Nishio Dragons
Morio Hanari, editor-in-chief, Tokyo Business Quarterly [IG]
Gamal Mohari, Tanzanian Energy Correspondent
Hiro Chinen (98 yrs. old), resident, Ibaraki Nurshing Home (in Mito)

Watatsumi Shipbuilding Co. LTD, in Sakai
Utsuwa Industrial LTD, in Osaka

* * *

I checked all the names of organizations, committees, publications - they're all fake (as far as I can tell). The closest one to being OOG was the Ibaraki Nurshing Home, but only because there are (obviously) nursing homes in Ibaraki. Anyway, for what it's worth...

Kantaro Tagruato

per the Tagruato-to page:

Tagruato -- ashamed by his company's soiled reputation -- laid upon his sword.

Does this mean he died by the honor of the samarai, instead of embarrass his namesake he put his sword through his heart? Motive? Vengeance? redeem family name?

Typically yes your correct. What this is refering to is the "Bushido" code of honor. Yes we hear about this from Samurai movies and stories and such. But Bushido really isn't limited to the "Old" or "Samurai" Bushido is well and alive today though almost never practiced or is unheard of in North America. Many in Japan still live and or work with such a code. Bushido is extremely difficult to explain it's not as simple as the movies would have us believe. Like myself most "serious" martial artist (by this I mean the ones whos whole life IS the martial arts) and or instructors strive to live the Bushido way in our modern world.

Does this mean that you kill yourself for shames sake? Noooo that is or was an accepted course in those times of the Samurai. Now the term falling on your sword is more figuritive.

Although I think most have abandoned the old form of the Bushido that would call for ritual suicide rather than shame, I'm sure some still follow that idea in some sense. I know that in Japan suicide for shame's sake has been an ongoing concern with corporations when executives make major mistakes, and that the train engineers that were late were often committing suicide as a result. Mr. Tagruato was a full adult in 1945, and could have been adherent to much older ways.
