Hmm, interesting theory, I aslo believe tagruato.jp has some rumblings about occurences happening around mid-October. I may just have to rent that god awful movie on the 16th just to check it out.

Seems very plausible. I wouldn't doubt it.

Why would anyone release a new trailer on a DVD? Has that ever happened?

It would boost sales of the DVD, thats reason enough. Look at Crackdown for the XBox 360, it came with a Halo 3 online demo thing and it sold like hot cakes. I'm not sure if this has ever been done with movies but if there is money to be had by telling everyone theres a new cloverfield teaser on this then that's reason enough to do it.

It would only "sell like hotcakes" if people knew that the trailer was on it. It doesn't help to keep that secret.
Considering that there has been no mention of it, and the DVDs have probably been pressed long ago already, I wouldn't count on anything there.

Actually yes. There are even instances where DVD's contain full scenes from movies that are coming out that carry a similar concept. A good example is the first "Saw" DVD that had the full opening scene to "The Devil's Rejects", so anything is possible.

Now there's a very interesting idea. I could see that happening.
The only instance I can think of it happening before was with X-Men 1.5 and it's trailer for X-Men 2.

I haven't seen any promotional material about the DVD yet, it could still be on there. You are right though, they would have to advertise it at least sometime before its release but I don't think many DVDs have more than a week prior to release worth of advertising.

Found on tagruato.jp under invester news
Ganu Yoshida to Meet with Tanzanian Energy Correspondent to Discuss Mineral Excavation.
Ganu Yoshida is set to meet with Tanzanian Energy Correspondent, Gamal Mobari in mid-October to discuss the potential for mineral excavation on the Tanzanian coast.
At a recent press conference, Yoshida had this to say: "Tanzania's coast houses a plentiful supply of minerals that are pivotal in the production of many of today's medical necessities. Our company would like to explore these possibilities in hopes of providing better service to our loyal customers and opening yet another door on our path to the future."
Seems plausible we'd get something around mid October, and it at least seems plausible that could involve something on the Transformers DVD. If I start seeing commercials for the DVD and nothing Cloverfield wise is mentioned I'll think we need to look elsewhere but until then I'll still consider it at least a possibility.

Next Trailer would have to be in a Paramount Movie, Went to Paramounts website to see any big movies coming out in Oct-Nov. Beowulf opens Nov.16th or that Bee Movie Nov 2nd. Best bet would be Beowulf.

I dont know if transformers DVD will have the next trailer. The reason (as far as im aware) they put if before transformers was because of a large audience. I think far less people will watch the DVD.

That serves has circumstantial evidence as to the truth of such speculation...
Jabrams has been unconventional throughout this whole process.
Such is the nature of Bad Robot productions and marketing, as of late.

Well I don't think a full blown trailer would be on the dvd either but I think its likely it would contain at the very least the original teaser and perhaps a new teaser.
