It would only "sell like hotcakes" if people knew that the trailer was on it. It doesn't help to keep that secret.

Considering that there has been no mention of it, and the DVDs have probably been pressed long ago already, I wouldn't count on anything there.

I/d/k...

Not that I'm sold on the idea, but...

Everything has been a big secret so far...

And in terms of selling some tasty "hotcakes"...
Between the internet, word o' mouth, in store advertising and day of release promotional media advertising (news, E!, TV DVD commercials)
it would take about six seconds @ this point for everybody and their grandmother to become aware...

With the creation of the myspace characters, maybe even a trailer previewed on there?

transformers dvd

i am willing to bet that the Transformers Special Edition dvd will have something cloverfield related. And i doubt very seriously that they (as in paramount) will announce it since most of this has been word of mouth. Also Transformers is going huge on dvd, its released a little before teh holiday season, its a huge blockbuster, plus ws huge movie that some people didnt go see becuase of the crowds. so chances are the dvd sales and rentals for this will be huge.

though to play devils advocate to myself, the full list of dvd features for the 2 disc version, found
here , does not list trailers as a special feature at all.

As far as getting another trailer on a DVD or something like that, I can definitely see it happening. However, if I were Paramount, I would, just as people have predicted, attach it to one of my studio's upcoming films.

Personally, I was ticked off by the rumor that "Stardust" had a new teaser connected to it. I know several people who went to see it JUST for that reason.

The same thing happened with Zone of Enders.

Transformers wasn't bad, there could have been more robot smashing in it. Anyway, most DVDs have previews of movies to DVD or movies upcoming in theaters.
