I'd really like to make it, and travel appears to be within reach, so it's a matter of figuring in enough money for a weekend. Let's see if we can organize some hotel/motel we can stay in as a group, for those who would be staying more than just friday...
Under the assumption I'm going, I'd head up on Thursday (12 hour train ride) at arrive 2 blocks from the venue in NYC. I'd be heading home Sunday morning, so I'd be staying 3 nights, and use Saturday for some NYC sight seeing and such... if anyone cares to join me, they'd be welcome to, or if something else is being planning, I'd love to join in
Hopefully I'll be able to figure out money stuff this week to finalize my plans.

Whether you're volunteering or attending, what's your plans? Once the seminar site gets more content, I'm sure more detailed schedules and NYC info (transport, accomodations, attractions, or at least links to sites that offer that info =P) will be available...

Registration is now available for a reduced rate of $175 if you sign up before October 1. The registration fee includes a light breakfast and there is an option to attend an informal buffet lunch with the presenters at a separate location for an additional $25 (at Todai Seafood Buffet). Please note that you are on your own to find lunch otherwise (although we should be able to provide a little information about eateries local to the venue).

More research help needed:

so we are trying to reach people to market this seminar to. We know it will be fantastic and that anyone interested in this field should attend. They will save more than they are spending by learning why and how to design games and online experiences. This will be a small group of selected people who will leave the conference will the knowledge of how and why to make games we like...and to embrace the chaos.

I was googling around trying to find a contact info for JJ Abrams, and I realized, this is a perfect project for the unfiction community -aka, affectionately, as the Mongol horde (forget this "hive" nomenclature...that is all too much people thinking the same way):

So here is the idea: I need good contact information for people who are behind on current games/ promotions as well as people at the major studios, internet companies and networks. By good contact info: I mean an agency contact or an email address. No need to stalk anyone.
