I sent a copy of the translated version of the recipe to a friend of mine who isn't a professional chef, but she knows a lot about cooking; and, her sister just got back from a long stay in Japan. I asked her if the recipe looked real/normal, or if it was something weird, etc. I didn't tell her why I wanted to know or where I got it from. She recently emailed me this reply:
"This is a real recipe. It's for a cold noodle dish which is really common lunch time fare in Japan. I have no idea about the bottom of the sea honey though. Perhaps it is a Japanese name brand item?"
So, I don't think it's Japanese cornbread. (though, I did get a kick out of her confusion over the DSN. ).

No...that's not it. Think about it. The recipe card is (in the reality of the movie) a real recipe card for a real recipe. Yes, it does provide us some clues but it may not have anything to do with the pic on the other side.
It looks like the young japanese chef has just made a joke. Could it be that he used a real (again, real for the movie) recipe card and a joke picture, perhaps for a buddy's amusement. A gag, you know. Like...heres a recipe for this lovely dish...but look, I made cornbread instead!
Just a thought.

hows about this.
The reviewer McDooble goes to congratulate Chef Nakamura (if it is indeed him in the pic), asking for the recipe. Chef Nakamura is suprised and delighted as this part of the menu had all but got bad reviews in the past and only recently when using a new ingredient did it get good feedback. So happy and pleased that food critic has loved it he poses for a picture with the food looking so happy.
Afterwards, he writes down the recipe on the back to share his find quoting it word for word from a recipe book he uses from time to time (with the addition of the special ingedient). He starts giving them away to customers who are his biggest fan.

Uh, except that the back of that image is printed and not hand written.
Someone would have had to convert an image into a recipe card for some reason. That usually is to promote something, and I don't see how we go from a reviewer in a restaurant in Norway to our Slusho 7 in NYC.
Also, why would he write the recipe in Japanese when cooking in a Norwegian restaurant, for an English speaking customer?

So, it looks like a few people have posted their 'reviews' of Garbanzos now.
Garbanzos reviews
Let me preface this by saying that the new ones are most assuredly OOG. I'm just posting this as one of the reviewers might be giving a better idea of what the dish on the front of the recipe card may actually be.
A19 talks about Kansai okonomiyaki , a quick search showing that it is referred to as a Japanese omelete/pancake/pizza depending on what you read or where it's made. Could be the dish, not that it matters at all.

Dont be so sure.
As with lost, there are no coincidences.
This is potentially the biggest movie of the year by the person responsible for the biggest show of the decade.
If the mistake could have been made to seem like it was about crab,
it was no accident.
I'll tell you what with all this uncertainty and speculating I'll go ahead and be so bold as to throw out a garuntee. When this movie comes out I garuntee it will be the biggest film of 2008........ up to that point, lol.
hahahahahha
word up!!!!!

not to put a downer on this game, but i think it will be an anti-climax when the film shows up. Will not live up to expectations at all
well, it could go either way I think.
Lost never fails me...although between seasons I always think "Oh I bet tHIS will be the season that sucks"
and it hasnt yet.
On the other hand,
who knows?

anybody notice that in one of the pics on the 1-18-08 site,
the one where they are forcing a shot down some guys throat....
there is a sinister looking person in the right hand corner licking her/his lips.....
and what looks like a yellow lit number 9.....or 6 if you flip the pic
and in the latest jamie video,
she said
"I told you 6 times"
(about cornbread ?)
and her gift was not to be opened till
december 9
curious.

you know the more i look at the picture of the chef, he seems more scared than happy or excited. like something surprised him in the kitchen and has him cornered.

I found the food processor in the 1-18-08 "Chef" picture.
Get this - it is called the ROBOT COUPE Food Processor ! Wow
BTW, robotcoupeusa.com was registered in 1997, so it's OOG.

anyone think 3912 might be a huge clue? i'm just wondering if perhaps we overlooked the 3912 number.
i did a simple google search and check what i found. as of now i don't have a clue as to what it means, but seems to be very interesting.
if anyone could make some sense of this, that'd be sweet.
this is some genome site or something:
check it
if anyone has any ideas, please post
