Yeah. John Quincy Adams (linked many posts back) did make mention of a "Minotaur of the ocean" though.
The quote:
The question is not how many of our children we shall sacrifice without resistance to the Minotaur of the ocean, but whether our children shall have any security to protect them from being devoured by him.
Does sound Cloverfield-esque.

but would it really have to be aquatic? It's just coming out of the water, after all. Godzilla was never really defined as aquatic. He just didn't have his own jet or boat to get around in.

if it isnt aquatic then that cancels out all the drilling that tagruto is doing and the whole point of the deep sea ingredient. it isnt a deep sea dwelling creature.

i think the John Adams quote is more metaphorical, as in the evil of England or whatnot. of course i could be wrong it might the motivation for the whole thing. but once again, the quote is, Is that a minotaur, not there is a minotaur.

So let me get this straight , what was in her file when Dr. Awk first looked in it, before anyone else had a chance to add anything.
[EDIT] sorry, got my threads mixed up, its' understandable the way things are flying tonight.

The pic I re-posted wasn't included in the PB account until after it was hacked, because Jamie's message about the hackers was the only thing there when Doc Awk posted. That's the part that's confusing me. If the people behind the handling of the Jamie character on the net uploaded the minotaur-esque pic, that'd have to be one hell of a coincidence not to be a confirmation.

Absolutely correct. This was during the War of 1812 and was in reference to the British navy conscripting American citizens. Might be relevant if this were 'National Treasure 2'
Edit: relevancy of the JQA quote, not DeniseB's comment that is.

Thanks for the info. I should've read a little more, I guess. I took it out of context. The things searching for potential leads will do to you...

I kind of believe her, to be honest. Of course I'm still skeptical (this is the internet), but all that she said seems pretty reasonable. Ah well.
Anyway, I hope some people here didn't scare her off. She seemed pretty open to answering questions.
