From what I've seen of past ARGs, I'm thinking that maybe Slusho, Tagruato, Ganu Yoshida, and possibly even the Kaitei no Mitsu will be totally absent from the actual plot of the movie, and only hold any importance within the ARG.

My guess is that all the Tagruato/Kaitei no Mitsu stuff is just an explanation for why the monster appears that will only be told in the ARG. The actual movie, with its focus on average everyday people and its Blair Witch-esque camera, will simply tell the tale of the attack and not explain why the attack happened, much in the way that Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds did not attempt to explain what made the birds attack in the first place.

Slusho has already been out in the world for a long time on the Asian market IG.

I'd like to remind people that Slusho has been on the Asian market for quite some time (so much so it's the second most popular frozen beverage).

That being the case :

1) Why would they need to experiment on Jamie when they have a gigantic population already drinking the stuff?

and

2) Seeing as Slusho has been out in the world, consumed by millions of people already, if there were some side effects to be noticed and cause a ripple in the world, and the movie/ARG is based some what on reality, you would think the IG characters would mention having heard about the odd behavior ensuing over seas due to Slusho consumption.

Please. Someone tell me how I'm wrong here, because at this point it is really blowing my mind that people are still throwing around the idea that somehow Slusho is going to affect anyone in the film (in terms of super powers, side effects, or experiments, etc. etc.)

Brownie

Pretty simple explanation:

The REAL side effects (superpowers, transforming into giant monsters, mutating into 28Days zombies, giving birth to alien love child etc) are still latent. And won't become fully evident until something unusual (like, say, a 63-degree midnight in NYC in the middle of winter) happens.

The other possible side effects (as evidenced in the Macdooble ramblings, Jamie's UTI or whatever) are so minor that they very well wouldn't even be attributed to Slusho; or there *could* be some suspicion that the DSI isn't safe for human consumption, but that's only out there in the realm of Internet conspiracy freaks.

i remember a while back a guy came up with teh theory that the whole reason why this thing has gone crazy was because screen writers forgot to put in character development. So when all the slaughtering starts 5 minutes into the movies, you actually feel bad for the characters, for those like us who have gone deep into this thing. For those who havent kept up with the Cloverfield craze...probably wont like the movie unless they have violent needs for the slaughtering of hot women by a gigantic monster thing.

I still like that theory.
