Wasn't Thor just trying to score some free Slusho in Rob's party? Damn Myth creatures and their addiction to frozen treats.

I specifically remember a cake, Thor gets mad cause he wasnt invited to the party so he follows Rob and Jamie and dumps his mega cake on them for revenge.

To clarify, since this is getting out of control a little bit, the "monster" in HoL is not ever clearly identified as a minoutar.
The thing in that book is an unknown, nobody ever actually saw it and it never even physically harmed anyone. The book contains academic analogies to a minotaur because the interior of the house becomes maze-like and there's this eerie growl noise they keep hearing. The guy writing the story (Zampano) is despearately trying to sound intellectual, so he throws all these references in. However, its not clear whether there was a "monster" in the house or the growl noise the characters were hearing was just the house "shifting", so its entirely possible that there was no monster at all. So could there have been a minotaur in that book? Yes. But could it have also been Cthulu, Godzilla, Voltron or a Lion or nothing living or animate? Yes.
Personally, I think they were just telling the extras that to keep them in the dark. If they say "pretend its a scary _____________ (insert similar sized thing here), its going to be the right reaction, regardless.

The growl was most likly just the shifting of the rooms since it never actually harmed anyone. So that makes the growl the shifting of the walls. Somewhere in the book, sorry for no exact page on this but, somewhere there is a quote that goes something like this. "The shifting of the walls around them correspond to the person's current emotional state. Now I could get into detail here, but long story short, there was no minotar or whatnot.
On a completly separate note, when are you people going to learn? This is JJ Abrams we are talking about. He is smart. HE WILL NOT SHOW US THE MONSTER. If he does I will eat a portion of my favorite yankees hat. Ive been saying this from the start. We will see shadows, even parts of the monster maybe. But we will not see the entire monster. Guareented(sp)
And Oniduo , I just talked to JJ you and him are cool now. Hes not that mad.

ok i know how we solve the problem of the this whole minotaur thing
i am infact jj's son, and i worked with the monster and hes in fact not american at all but spanish! i worked with him very closely and was able to snap this exclusive photo.
but thanks jojo for that about HoL there never was any physical evidence of a minotaur, yet it talked about how the maze was built to keep him out/nobody seeing the kings son.
maybe this things not a minotaur but something being kept away from ever seeing the earths surface again, maybe this drilling released it.??? who knows. its all up to stipulation. but hey look at the capricorn from astrology,
half goat/ half whale type thing.

Well, I've read this great book and I find, there're only one connection between Cloverfield and "House of Leaves", and it isn't the plot, what's similiar. But the hype people had done with "Navidson Record" and - in our case - with trailer and other Cloverfield stuff. It's just: an uber-interpretation.
We, Cloverfield fans of the movie we haven't seen, make a lot of speculations and hypothesis about the stuff we didn't really know, what's about. The same situation we can see in the book - there's a house, and in this house isn't a monster of something. There is just NOTHING, but this nothing is really horrible and ... ehm well, "it's alive and huge". So somebody see in this nothing a monster, somebody calls this nothing metaphorical "Minotaur", something see in this monster or nothing the own reflection.
So the thing is, this nothing is quite powerfull, so everybody see in this nothing the own fearness.
So the book is really good illustration of the discussions and theories we make about Cloverfield, it's a sociological experiment with some horror moments.
So, if Lil say, she like "House of Leaves" it may be an implicit irony about the fans.

This is a little off topic... I digress.
This book is actually fantastic and highly enjoyable while at the same time dark and creepy.
