Update: Video from Stephen Lake

As posted to the rumors section of Unfiction...

Normally I dread receiving correspondence from lawyers, but when the lawyer is the famous Stephen Lake ( lakeSPLATlandau-luckman-lake.com ) of Landau, Luckman, and Lake, it's a completely different story. The following popped into our inbox sometime this afternoon.

Stephen Lake wrote:
We have reason to believe that the following information was intended for general release. We are unable to divulge the source or offer any interpretation of the contents.

Attached to the email was this video (QuickTime, 3.5MB). Thoughts?

Movie File at L3.com

The same video can also be found at www.landau-luckman-lake.com in the updates section under the link labeled attachment. The message seems to indicate this is the end of this portion of the adventure.

Don't forget the flashing word FIT with the knight in the upper right corner.

Pretty impressive video. A lot of images.
You guys with the capabilities, can you freeze frame and check those flashed words (around the middle of the video).
Maybe identification of all the images that are flashed (the first group was slow enough to identify at playing speed, but the last part showed them very fast and I wonder if there might be some "hidden" pictures within them).

Here ya go

Here are the two stills you asked for...and the first 8 quick images in collages of four.

If others want to contribute, just post your intentions, then add to your original post with the attachments. If we each grab 8 or 10 images, it should be quick.

Those that don't get screen caps can always help with identification.

konamouse,

If you use QuickTime player to view the movie, u can advance it frame by frame using the L/R cursor keys (pause the playback first)

A Couple Small Observations

There's a New River University frame in the montage of pictures. It stays on the screen just a little bit less time than all the other pictures.

The only picture that appears twice in the montage is a picture of the Titanic setting sail.

Let's identify the images

In the "quick sequence", here's the things I see. Probably not significant, but maybe worth knowing.

Che Guevara, someone and Fidel Castro
An astronaut, on the moon
Not sure - I'm leaning towards Marconi
Nostradamus
Ayatollah Khomeni
Burning oil fields
Mohamed Ali (the boxer)
Col. Oliver North
Two Olympic athletes
The Pentagon
Saddam Hussein
Some soldiers on a subway with brooms. There seems to be some weird coloration/possible photoshoppery on the ceiling of the car they're in.
Hundreds of clay soldiers from China
The RMS Titanic
The Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, D.C.
The oil tanker Exxon Valdez
An American Communist party campaign poster. For president: W. Z. Foster. For vice-president: Ben Gitlow.
The Beatles
The Hindenberg exploding
A volcano (possibly Mt. St. Helen's) erupting
Tsar Nicholas II of Russia
A Young Albert Einstein
Jackie Robinson
Some Chinese soldiers marching
An American tank in the the Gulf War
A gentleman
The Eiffel Tower
Lee Harvey Oswald being shot by Jack Ruby
A night-vision picture of a soldier loading a mortar...

Can someone else continue this? I have to go for dinner!

Oh, the last one is Benoit Mandlebrot in front of a fractal.

Let's identify the images

I would try to help identify the more obscure photos, if someone will be so kind as to post them (Thank you Diandra, for those that you already put here.)

Here is a young Thomas Edison

the sun (or maybe some other star?)
http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap970106.html

Captain Charles E. Yeager,
http://www.grunts.net/album/usaf/usaf30.html

MIG 29 crashing at Paris Airshow
http://www.nada.kth.se/~ayt/pictures/ACpicts.html

I can't get most of the images on my hardware and I'm glad of that, because many of them are disturbing recent history memories.

P.S. Does anyone suspect that this may be the start of CTW?

As I rewatched the video and thought about the questions, this same thought hit me (but was so farfetched that I tossed it out of my mind). It is interesting, considering the timing. And the wording.

My interpretation of Movie

After seeing the movie I have asked myself the quesions. Out of that I got that if we change history it could be a good thing and lead to great things, but also can lead to bad things in the long run. In other words, there is always consequences either good or bad that can occur.

LLL a part of CTW?

I mentioned it a while back in the chat area, and folks generally thought not. I tend to agree except...

We already know that the game CTW will begin as we are contacted by in game characters. If LLL are characters, then we have certainly been contacted by them.

Although the font/style of the "trailer" is very different in feel from CTW, it has the same conceptual background - what if you could.......

So, I won't bet the farm that it's the beginning of CTW, I will contend that 1) it's the end half of Feb 2) we've been contacted by an in game character and 3) the concept of "what if you could" is part of this as well.

The CTW trailer looks like the Wish is more of a contemporary story, though. And more personal than political/financial.

I'm expecting CTW to have a Monkey's Paw feel to it. LLL doesn't appear that way...yet.
