I'm not sure about that. I mean, a smaller game with a much more controlled game base may not had been trying to guess the PB password on the first place. If Awk would had asked first if he should start typing random words to break into the PB account I'm sure many would had tell him not to. Nothing good would come out of that, only the posibility for any to change and delete things. Hacking into Photobucket doesn't work as part of the game, even if it was wanted by the PMs.

But with the craziness and mass volume of people playing this game, is too hard to restrain ourselves and this kind of thing happen. I mean, come on, what's next, trying to guess the ftp password for slusho.jp? Why not hack into JJ abraham personal mail? I'm sure there's a pic of the monster in there.

EDIT: A typo made it look as if I were insulting the players of this game. Sorry if anyone saw that.

What pictures where there and how many?

At the moment there's only a picture of a baby in the PB account.
If some one could post the original set i will replace them.

That's Rob's PB. These need to go into Jamie's, 4 altogether.

So is everything in Rob's PB ok then?

No damage done?

I don't really keep up on the Myspace/PB side of thing's, so i have no idea
what should be there or not.

rob's is fine. It's been secured. Jamie's has been ruined however.

At this point I've got to say leave as little a footprint in the accounts as possible. I highly doubt the need for a blog post for the PMs to know about the breach. Unless they ignore everything sent to them (voluminous as it is) and have no eyes on the various forums and blogs, then they will know this happened. Obviously someone on their end is a little slow on the uptake, but they will get it. The last thing we want is for them to take their ball and go home.

that's not what my point was. I was assuming someone had already discovered the first password by accident. In almost any other ARG it would've snowballed if the information we got access too by a mistake was also available to them.

And Doc Awk didn't expect it to be paramount, nobody did.

Looks like "Him Who is He" has also gained entrance to the myspace... [He is listed as new friend]

How!?!?!

Suggest another way to get in contact with the PMs. It seems appropriate to tell them what Dib posted originally. If you can send them an email you found or somehow get it through to them so you know they'll see it, that's great.

They'll be quite surprised when they wake up tomorow and everything is whack.

Probably was able to do it all along. Awkward said 3 people had gotten in. I'm assuming you, him, and Him Who is He are those he referred.

Or, you could make a post on his wall including what was said before, and make him authorize the post.

Seems less obvious than a blog, and will still get to them.

Yeah, been trying to think about how to do that out of the public view if it's really necessary. Rob could email himself or Jamie.

I suggested that, it would get lost in the 3000 other emails.

Keep in mind they would never check their mail since they talk in real life. It would be useless since no one can view it anyway.

Don't say I didn't warn you ARG'ers that like to crack accounts of the consequences! If you're in the US or a country with good political ties and you cracked a password, gained entry and made changes to content you are likely now guilty of computer fraud as outlined in the Computer Fraud & Abuse Act of '96. Good luck!

Realized that after posting, although an email to Rob from Rob might stick out if not buried too deep in the stack or if they look at the sent mail. Slim chance.

EDIT:
Also, if Jamie's account is a lost cause, I think that is message enough.

I doubt it.

And who keeps hiding the blogs??? THis is getting rediculous. The people in charge should be contacted, and if not like this how?

Dr. Awkward I'm assuming you are behind this due to hints from earlier. If you can offer an alternative please go ahead.

What? You might have cost someone their income, their livelyhood, because you were having fun?
Feh, why feel guilty - you had fun, right?

Edit: If you don't sense my sarcasm, I've just declared it to you.
Oh, and these blog posts - I don't yet believe they exist or existed. I haven't seen them, and I notice they are a future date (1-18-08 of course). The pic showed no other entries despite the presence of others. I see the new friends though.

In all honesty only someone imcompetent would have the passwords be so obvious for such a key part of the ARG.

I do not like the idea of costing someone their job, and I doubt he had fun, and in fact, if it stays with the person in charge (which it likely will since it was sent to the email of Rob and not some big producer), it wont cost them their job. Now if they sent it straight to JJ abrams, then the guy would be in trouble...
Remember Abram's name is at stake with this movie.
