[SL] [SPEC] The Deck, and Who's really Who?

Okay,
It was established here that Athena Snows, our Queen of Hearts, is an anagram for Shane Watson: The Artist behind Silver Ladder.
I searched to see if this little detail was mentioned, and I didn't see it, so if I'm trouting, then give it to me. Otherwise I think this was kinda skipped over; On Two of Hearts MS page, under her heroes, it says:
Quote:
The Queen of Hearts, SHW (rest in peace)

Shane Watson, Right?
Okay, here's my point of discussion. I always kinda assumed, until I noticed this, that Shane (if he were alive), was the Ace of Spades since he's the artist responsible for Silver Ladder, and the basis for the tribute. However, if he's the Queen, as it's stated on 2H's MS, then who's the Ace? Is that part of the mystery? Is he really the ace, and Athena an Alter-Ego? Is he really dead, and I'm just blowing this out of per portion?I'm interested to hear thoughts, as I'm not making a statement, but stirring up conversation.

All I know if that Athena told me all of this is inpired by Shane, but it isn't about him. She told me not to contact his family. I personally don't think he died. I think he is behind all of this. I think he is a detail we are supposed to just not focus on and go with the flow for now. I think he is part of what the cards are telling us about investigating where we aren't supposed to. It is all mysterious though. Just my two cents. Smile

I'd guess since shane appears to be a real person that he is acutally the queen of hearts (thus the name change) and the reason they ask not to contact his family about his death is.. HE ISN'T DEAD. Wouldn't that kinda wierd you out if like 50 people called you about your son being dead when he isn't? Could be construed as death threats at that point.

I don't think he's dead but thats just me. And, if he isn't I wonder why the mystery... And why do all the twos posts around the same time (if they all happen to post something) Kinda strange no? So is each card really one person in that area that says it on their myspace or maybe there are two cards to one person, or something along those lines...

Yeah, I've been thinking about it.

just from a financial standpoint I'd say it's likely that the cards are not all seperate people. The puppetmasters would want to limit the number of helpers paid for the game. If every card was a single person that'd be a staff of 64+ all being paid, with over 50 being paid for doing nothing right now. That's just not responsible, and if it does turn out to be advertising it's not likely volunteers playing the cards.

I'd say 1 person is about 4 cards. or we have a group of about 5 puppetmasters playing all the cards and that's why they will phase in and out.

Usually the cards don't post at the exact same time. They did it once, to tell us to take the weekend off, and 2c told me that the aces were going to coordinate the deuces posting at the same time. I am not saying they are all separate people, just pointing out a fact that I knew. Also, it is rather unlikely that thee pm's are being paid. Just my 2 cents.

They don't even need to be seperate people to post all at the same time. You just need 4 different IE sessions up, or a Firefox session and 3 IE sessions.

I do that a lot when I'm trolling, so it's not impossible.

I'm going to ignore the whole Shane thing unless it seems important, and it doesn't right now.

most ARG's these days are setup to promote something. The sheer amount of time invested and (normally) the amount of websites registered to run one makes running one freelance not overly likely. Even with this one the number of videos they have shows that someone is likely getting paid to make them.

It's always about money.

Who cares? Money or not, we're enjoying the experience. I will not run out and buy whatever they're selling unless I would have before this game, but if it's giving me this experience I don't care about commercialism. I guess I'm just selfish, but if I'm getting amusement from it I don't really care about the other implications.

Not saying I care, just stating likely facts. It's likely to be an add for something and it's likely to have a small paid crew putting it all together. That aside I am enjoying it and if it turns out to be an ad for something im interested in I may well buy it. I'd be more likely at this point to plunk some money into something related to Tom Tooman tho, it's just creepy enough to get my money Smile

I'd find it pretty confusing and contradictory if this were an elaborate sales pitch, when anti-consumerism is one of the themes popping up so far.

Exactly, but we have yet to see who the real good guys and bad guys are. We may have a serious plot twist that says "LOL KORP WAS THE GOOD GUY ALL ALONG"

Doubt it, but possible.

Could be advertisement for a movie like fight club or another anti estabolishment group, the cards could be anti estabolisment vigilanties or something wierd like that (not a suggestion for you aces! leave it alone! I like my cards not evil)

shane watson mentions fight club and similar films in the interview kafkaguy posted in the relevant thread in this forum. i think the link only maybe goes that far. after all, there seem to be overarching themes to things that have been going on here - namely the malleability of perception...

Just wanted to add/point out that kafkaguy is the guy who did the interview that he posted.
