If we remove that Watchmen angle, then it would make sense that Teddy = "chin strap" and that he's at the party, given Jamie's infatuation w/him, and the fact that he's not anyone's 'friend' (apparently).

..........And, Lena could just be an overprotective friend (given Jamie's lifestyle, I imagine most her friends would have to be overprotective).

Do you suppose the $11 comment was a witty comment left at the party, or an inside joke concerning a petty debt that Rob incurred during a potential friendship??

If it's the former, $11 guy and Rob could have some type of formidable friendship, which may mean (if $11 guy is Teddy) that Rob and Teddy are indeed friend's, or aquintances at the least...
In that case, $11 guy/Hanssen does know, at least a few, people at Rob's surprise bon voyage fiasco.

On a sperate note...
Marlena seems like more the "dirty girl" between her and Jaimie..no??
Although Jaimie's admittedly a top girl, I've gotten the impression Marlena would be more inclined to "buddy" sex.
Jaimie seems more of the commitment type than Lena for obvious reasons.
I'm thinkin' Lena is a little jealous of Jaimie from some of her "snide" remarks.
Doesn't seem like Lena's protecting her as much as tryin' to ruin a potentially good thing.
Maybe she doesn't want Jaimie to be doing "better" than her.
She's potentially afraid of the fact that she needs to grow up and take her life a lil' more serious before she winds up with a Hawk type.
Maybe she's intimidated by her friend's moving into a more "mature" lifestyle and leaving her as the lonely ol' party girl...

I like the thinking, Doc Awk, but why do you think Lena is more the "dirty girl" than Jamie?

If we knew whether Teddy and $11 Guy are one and the same would certainly make SO much of this clearer. I think that's got to be one of the most significant loose ends to be tied up in this whole deal (the absolutely most significant being the monster itself, of course). I think I can safely say that the questions about Teddy and $11 Guy are the most significant among the human characters we know about in or relative to NYC.

And to muddle the waters even further:

If, as I suspect, Teddy Hanssen is of Norwegian descent (he or his family probably came from Sandefjord, thus the ref in Macdooble's critique of Garbanzo's there, then *either* $11 Guy or FG Guy could fit the bill...both could pass for Scandinavian quite easily...

Hmmm, I think we could clear up all of the mysteries if we'd just send Doctor Awkward over to the Paramount server. Razz

One reason is her logic for getting over somebody... Rolling Eyes

Isn't Lena the techno witch too??

Not that makes here "dirty" so to speak, but it lends a bit to an ominous overtone of sorts for her character...

I was under the impression he was laughing it off already too. We do joke with the best of intentions Dr., its more of a laughing with you than a laughing at you.

guess my point of research that has gotten me nowhere is akaparallax.com just watching it being updated. Found the link on another site and it was the only one I bookmarked to check the status of the site from time to time. I was interested because the person said they found it on the same server as the jamie and teddy site. LINK

FLAGS
First it was the Naval Ensign of Japan
Second an American flag was added
Third a British flag was added
Fourth it was the Russian flag (plus stuff from the Sierra Club: see below)

Big Oil has been raking in billions in profits but apparently not investing anything that would help it meet environmental and safety standards. Their negligence and sloppy monitoring and maintenance are more reasons to think twice when Big Oil says 'trust us' as they try to open up America's coastal waters to destructive oil drilling.

Recently, BP had to shut down the Prudhoe Bay oil fields in Alaska. This shutdown comes on the heels of the single largest oil spill ever on Alaska's North Slope, when a corroded BP pipe dumped 267,000 gallons of oil onto the frozen tundra. BP also recently was forced to shut down 12 oil wells after whistleblowers revealed that more than 50 wells, most of which are in the Prudhoe Bay area, were leaking.

In fact, the Prudhoe Bay oil fields and Trans-Alaska Pipeline have caused an average of 504 spills annually on the North Slope since 1996, according to the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC).

There is approximately 6200 miles of active pipeline in the Gulf of Mexico constructed or approved prior to 1982. To put that in context, there are 1200 active pipelines in the Gulf that are at least 25 years old.

Industry's track record with offshore drilling is ugly. Offshore drilling platforms and pipelines spilled 1.8 million gallons of oil in U.S. waters from 1990-1999 in 224 reported accidents – that's an average of almost 500 gallons a day2. Additionally, offshore operations produce 214,000 pounds of air pollutants each year, and tens of thousands of pounds of mercury have been dumped around Gulf oil rigs.

The Sierra Club

The songs are strange
Before clicking on any songs and playing them there is sound in the background that sounds like sonar. It plays 6 times then stops.

Hands Remix - "The clock on the wall reads a quarter past midnight..." (I like this song a lot, lol)
Chemical Remix - You can't make me close my eyes
Alliance Remix M72 (at first I thought it was a weapon) - talks about having only this moment.
FPSO Remix - FPSO stands for Floating Production Storage and Offloading - talks about lies, disease, another world is born.
IOPD Remix - IOPD stands for Integrated Ocean Drilling Program, just music - very somber. Then the end you hear frogs and some growling and splashing like something is getting out of/in the water. (4:25)
M71 House Remix - Meet your maker, the rooftop coming down, this property is condemned - Looking to the November sky - waiting for science - piece of history.

I first thought the M72 was of course a weapon, then I listened to M71 and it mentions looking at the sky. I googled it and pulled up that M71 is a cluster of stars. I looked up M72 is a cluster of stars as well.

M71 - Messier 71
NGC 6981
Saggita

M72 - Messier 72
NGC 6838
Aquarius

Both are globular clusters

Now you may ask how I thought of stars, well I looked up aka parallax and as defined on the main page:

The apparent displacement of an object caused by the change in the position from which it was viewed.

Could be totally unrelated, who knows I just thought it was interesting, lol. My brain over thinks things way too much sometimes.

EDITED: Listened to the IOPD song again and again. Their is subtle background noise that sounds as if a really large creature is roaring in the far off distance.

I found this by egyptianruin on this thread and it threw up a couple of interesting points, I searched for parallax and wikipedia listed superheroes with this ability (see huds comic requests) then I saw that rebirth was mentioned I dont know who put this up (sorry) but rebirh in ancient roman is retanus! the songs have obvious links as too the drilling platforms and the wierdest clue/coincedence the description of the M72 star cluster described as globular! now the Bloop reference is obvious the link i found described blobs that were on the bloop trail as globular! wierd huh! also the star cluster mentioned is aquarius! Im no astrologer but aquarius is Januaryish especially when its mentioned sagitarius on the same page!

Chin Straps and Fireballs

I really like Melampus' theory as it does tie together all the "fluff" from the myspace comments in some way or another. One of the interesting things is that Teddy is not friends with anyone or apparently associated. Which led me to think that maybe he is on myspace. Having a look at www.myspace.com/chinstrap there is a guy that exists but his profile is set to private. Probably oog (as chinstrap is most likely a name given to him by Jamie's friends rather than something he would call himself) but I'm going to keep my eye on it in case it suddenly becomes public like the PB.

On another note, we haven't had much speculation about the original trailer for a while. I find it strange that the trailer obviously shows flaming stuff falling from the sky and a giant asplosion. How would a water based creature cause such a flamable event to happen? The question being is the explosion originating from an impact or from a ground based event?

Drilling, but the location i see on the map is half way to london, an explosion wouldnt be seen in NYC if it was born from the drilling out there? what does the time tell us about the drilling? was a new phase of drilling started? Was a shipment of slusho being brought to NYC and Grumpypants hitched a ride?

In a number of places we've been told that Slusho must be kept cold. Now what happens if it gets hot? Does it become unstable and go critical causing a huge fireball to erupt. Or perhaps giving a sea denizen the ability to breath fireballs? Or have really bad gas? Shocked

(I realise I asked more questions than giving conclusions. I can't really think of any theories that would swing it one or another for me)
