 		Trailer Clues Revisited
We need to figure out what all those meant on the trailer...
We had the ABZ3293.com thing, obviously that was a jack, but they did put a lot of focus on that in the trailer, he wanted us to see it, like a lot of things, it's where we got slusho! so there's got to be more! ok so what do we have?

ABZ3293 - Licence plate
Exit to mystery st. - sticker on fridge
ACE 2004 - Wall after explosion
Dead Dead - back of street sign after SOL hits
AKM - Paddle board
63 degrees - on tv

I know we've sought this out to death but this stuff means something I know it!

AKM is actually a sorority and as much as that would rock, they don't paddle pledges.

There may be but probably OOG...if I remember correctly , it's an actual
News channel in NYC in the teaser.

Is there any meaning to the number 63? found this in wikipedia under 63, japanese calendar.

The Japanese era name (年号, nengō) based on the reign of the current emperor, the year 2007 being Heisei 19

The imperial year (皇紀, kōki) based on the mythical founding of Japan by Emperor

Seems alot of things for this movie are emperor/japanese based.

63 degrees.....longitude or latitude I know it was mentioned long long ago, but has it been revisited in the context of the drilling platforms perhaps?

 		I agree that there might be more in the trailer, or on 1-18-08.com, but there seems to be a certian methodology to the marketing/ARG that always makes me feel that things like ABZ3293 aren't the type of clues we should be looking for.

This seems to be based a lot more on (pardon the weird coin of phrase) a more realistic alternate reality (or rARG).

The sights like the mySpace pages, Slusho! and Tagruato "could" conceivably be real. In fact, everything about this thing has a realistic feel to it. I bet if you looked on mySpace, there are hundreds of smaller 'friend-groups' that are mostly internal chat between a small clique. If you weren't trying to tie all this into Cloverfield, sites like Slusho! are amusing things you might find on FARK or SlashDot. I think that the collected brainpower of this group should be looking for more clues that would lead to more rARG sites.

For example (on the backstory side):

  • Does Rob work directly for Tagruato or an US marketing firm that has the N.A. contract for marketing Slusho!?
  • Is there a Tagruato internal web/mail site that we can find?
  • Is there a company supplying the drilling platforms with food/supplies/personel?
  • Is there a shipping/distributing company connected to Slusho! for the US?
  • Is there a shipping company or sea-freight company getting raw "kaitei no mitsu" or other Tagruato raw materials.
  • Can we find out who has military/industrial contracts with Bold Futura?


On the Slusho7 side:

  • Who is Teddy?
  • Where is Teddy and where has he been?
  • What does he do, who does he work for?
  • What's in the Box?
    How did Hawk get his hands on Slusho?


Etcetera.

That may not have been the focus in that shot, given there was a person jumping out of the way of Lady Liberty's head.

Did he? We don't know that.

The AKM paddleboard and/or map is another story as the camera did linger on those without an obvious reason, although I think more for the paddle rather than the map. I'm pretty sure it's a fraternity paddle given the greek looking letters and the holes in it, regardless of whether there's a real AKM and regardless of whether the real one doesn't paddle pedges, this is a movie so reality need not apply to everything.

And it's Cricket bat, not a 'Cricket paddle'.

dalphx, NY1 is a real news channel so it's unlikely there's a 1-18-08 site themed to look like NY1 as it could lead to confusion for people over whether the fictional NY1 site was related to the real one.

 		So Jamie has a myspace, She missed Teddy, but Teddy doesnt have one? Think they would be talking to each other on there or thru Yahoo since they are in love & apart.

 		In regards to the license plate, we don't know that he wanted us to see that, nor if there was ever meant to be any emphasis on it. You didn't mention the Slusho T-shirt until after that 'he wanted us to see it' comment so I assumed it was in relation to the car license plate.
