For those of you obsessed enough to keep tabs on these sites, literally, I have a suggestion.
If you use Firefox or any other Gecko browser (SeaMonkey, Camino, etc.), Opera, or Konqueror (or it's brethren, like Safari) you can set a tab group to open as your 'home page'. Add this baby to your tab group:
http://slusho.jp/swf/contest.swf
When that stops giving you a 404, it's time to start a fresh thread and have a ball!

I don't get a 404 (I'm using Firefox,) I just get a white page. Nothing on it.

Now we need to do Dante Hicks from Clerks.

How's this Mr. Toasty...

I look forward to quickly learning the process involved in preserving
Seabed Nectar and supplying it to all of my loyal customers, as well as
enjoying it myself as soon as spossible. The bi-weekly delivery should
prove to be an excellent incentive to many, I'm sure.

I am not concerned with FDA approval, or any other, as my interests

your new discovery, Seabed Nectar. Please do your part in bypassing any
stumbling block in our path in regards to immediate reception of my new

This is my inaugural post, so I'll make it useful. I called the number listed and made a recording of the message I received. The message is in both Japanese and English, in that order. If someone is interested in doing so, a translation from Japanese to English to verify that the first half of the message is simply mirroring the second would be helpful. I have not left a message yet, though I am open to suggestions for something reasonable to say. You tell me what to say and I'll say it.

Edit: Here is an additional off-site URL in the event non-members are unable to access an attached file: www.omgod.com/stuff/cloverfield/SlushoDistribution.mp3

thanks for making that call + recording it. now we just need someone to make a 1:1 transcript of the japanese bit n then we can figure out some clever message.

This was already done somewhere in the Tagruato thread. It does roughly translate to the same thing.

The recording hasn't changed from when I recorded it a few weeks ago back when Tagruato site was found.

I think that will do nicely.

FWIW, here is what I sent last night shortly before people started posting theirs:
Quote:
Mr. Kagashima,

I have heard many wonderful things about your Slusho! beverages. I would like very much to learn more about the distribution possibilities in the United States. Particularly I am interested in placing Slusho! in night clubs and taverns throughout the Mid-West . Our current distribution channels supply several popular alcoholic drink mixes and energy drinks in six states, the sales of which have shown a steady 15% increase each year over the last six years. I have every reason to believe that adding Slusho! to our offerings can easily equal these numbers if our current research into your product is accurate. I would appreciate any information on the subject you would be able to supply. I look forward to further correspondence.

Best regards,
Jason Fischer

I'm guessing that the "Competition" link might turn out to be a real competition for us Cloverfiends, with the winner getting fabulous cash prizes, merchandise, and all-expenses paid vacation to Sandefjord, Norway, in the dead of winter.

Ok now onto something important. The pig has been mentioned a couple of times. In vid 2 on Jamie and teedy, I have stated before that there are 3 stuffed animals. There is the original teddy from video 1, a stuffed animal that looks like a pig, and what i thought was a lion. I am on my phone right now and cannot view the vid, but from what i remember, it looks like that teddy on the slusho page. Now completly assuming(and i mean completely) the teddy refers to teddy hannsenn, then could the pig represent jamie.

If you look at the pics I just posted in the poll, Jamie does look kind of piggy in both of them. I think it's her nose and a tendency to give the camera a nice shot up the nostrils. Maybe Teddy will be really hairy??

Also, the pig's nose on the Slusho dist. site looks like an electrical socket to me. Maybe lazy animation, but most people drawing a pig would give it circular or oval nostrils.

Did you get the link from decompiled SWF?

http://www.slusho.jp/xml/siteMap.xml

Congratulations Nighthawk for finding my source. All I had to do was look in my cache, conveniently done in any Gecko engine browser using about:cache as the URL. I just use 'find as you type' to seek out the items from slusho.jp and see what item each URL yields content of interest. You'll often find MP3s from sites this way, and find the individual Flash objects. You can also find things like the XML files - which in this case had the pointer to the as yet nonexistent Contest Flash file.

You may not have Firefox set to display error messages. If you don't and still DO get a blank page, you should view page source. They may put up a dummy file for the moment to prevent an error message (they read our posts, eh?) but that might screw up the coded behavior in the home.swf that shows us the bubble with the peculiar 'we'll find you' message.

One day... one day, not even twenty four hours i'm gone and this happens, always. It sucks. Anyway, when they did viral marketing for Halo 2 if you got the contest you got to play a beta of the game, maybe we'll all be invited to Japan (i say us all because we rock, and the twenty of us who really post a bunch just simply will rock even harder) to watch a sneak preview or we'll get specs on the monster. That'd be cool!

I just checked the FLAVORS.SWF file against the copy I saved from 9/29 and they are identical - which means there have been no changes.

It wont be japan, that wouldnt make sense. But a sneak preview is possible, but I think something limited addition, like a slusho model or something, or the chance to add to the story.
