The wallpaper in the movie Lucky Number Slevin is quite memorable. I recommend it as a great movie to watch - you'll be surprised at the end. I think the title held it back, it has great acting and a great story.

(I know what you mean about the wallpaper. I remember different ones from the apartments, but the clue about directors being famous for the wallpaper led me to guess Slevin)
