[TROUT] Cloverfield rip off: The Asylum at its best

Perhaps you already know "The Asylum", that movie company, who always makes rip offs of blockbusters, and show it 1-2 day before premiere of original.

They title their movies also very similiar: "Snake on A Train", "Transmorphers" etc. Now they produce the Movie "Tokyo" (With subtitle: "On 1.18.08 the truth will be told").

Well, even if they have very funny marketing, the quality seems to be... ehm... absent in their movies (Emerich meets Low Budget). Funny is also, normaly they make the movies very similiar to the original, e.g. "Transmorphers" with Transformer-alike (Transformer wannabe) robots, but in our case with Tokyo they seem to know the movie better than us: it's not a fictional apocaliptic documentary about an undersea monster destroying NY, it's a fictional apocaliptic documentary about an undersea monster destroying Tokyo. It isn't primitive rip off anymore. They know the backgrounds of the movie and the hype around it. Perhaps has The Asylum an insider at JJ Abrams set?

Yeah, someone had stumbled upon Asylum's laughable effort at cashing in on the movie... you can see the other topic here: [META] 1-18-08 ripoff (100%)

As for the background, I see nothing that someone couldn't get by browsing this forum.

Already mentioned in a previous topic.

This was already 'found' and discussed.
Thank you for playing!
