Wow, major updates while I was snoozing xD

I got the vid from white rabbit too...meh. I REALLY hope this isn't going to rely so heavily on character interaction. If so, I'll count myself out, I feel like I have to play through other people the characters "like", I'm not playing at all myself right now.

I giggled at the "sweet smell" comments. D'oh, there was a breakfast croissant on the scene after all. Laughing

Regarding the symbol (seriously now :p):

We know it's a crescent pentacle. Crescents and pentacles are Wiccan symbols.

Crescent Moon: The crescent moon is a symbol of the Goddess. The crescent moon can be either waxing (going towards the full moon), or waning going towards the new moon). The waxing moon is great for doing magickal workings that have to do with growth, creativity, etc. The waning moon is for the opposite, for example, banishing negativity. The crescent moons also symbolize two of the aspects of the Goddess. The waxing moon symbolizes the maiden, and the waning moon symbolizes the crone.

Pentacle: The pentacle is a 5 pointed star. The pentacle is the symbol of many things. It is the symbol of wo/man, the elements, and many other things. The pentacle is found in many places in nature. Many flowers have only 5 petals, an apple cut crosswise shows a pentacle, and these are just 2 examples. The pentacle is also a symbol of the male aspect of Deity.

So our symbol here combines the two - the male and the female (Alucard/White Rabbit?).

[EDIT: sauce with that, sir?]

For what it's worth, vampires and the like- new video hosted by Crescent...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5gFfQqTpD4

Looks like Hellsing to me. I see Alucard, anyway, and a girl who may be a White Rabbit parallel?

Yup, definitely Hellsing. It's a clip from the 3rd OVA, Millenium (Last Battalion), I believe. For those of you who aren't anime geeks, OVA is an Original Video Animation, meaning it's a longer length episode (mini-film) that went straight to video.

Here's some Hellsing (TV series info):
Click me!

Edit to add: In the series, Alucard is the servant of Integra Hellsing, which may explain the "dog" reference?

and, for the sake of covering everything, the other character in the video is Tubalcaine Alhambra.

TUBALCAINE ALHAMBRA
The "Dandy Man" is a well-dressed vampire who fights using gravity-defying moves. His weapons are objects that resemble playing cards. Alhambra can fling these cards singly or in swarms; they slice through objects and explode violently enough to smash walls. When injured, Alhambra can regenerate, reforming from masses of these cards. He is confident and boastful. [source]

Despite a slight "meltdown" on my part, we extracted a little info tonight in chat.

1. White Rabbit and Alucard appear to be Vampires. (Though neither admitted to it.)

2. The killings have spread from N.Y. to Washington State.

3. A point of reference will be the book "Twilight"

4. Josh and Amaranthe are considered "children" by White Rabbit.

5. Josh and Amanranthe both made it home safely.

6. White Rabbit and Alucard have a love/hate relationship. (White Rabbit knows nothing about where Alucard goes on his "trips".)

7. AMARANTHE DIDNT KILL CHRIS!!!! (J/K!) Laughing

Holy crap a lot happened while I was asleep! Killings spreading from NY to Washington State... why does that remind me of something?

Could be COMPLETELY unrelated, but thought I'd post about Project ARMs which is an Alice in Wonderland anime that features a character called White Rabbit :/ Most likely irrelevant but thought I'd post it anyway.

New post

Amaranthe has a new post on her blog. I also received an email from Amaranthe saying thanks for the help but, she's not sure why she needs it? To tell you the truth, I'm not sure either?!

Vampires? Ghosts? Magic?

Dude. This may be exactly what I was waiting for. Anybody mind if I hop on this boat too?

Oh, and there's one thing I'm not sure of from reading the thread. The wood splinters...which of the murders had the wood splinters? It sounds like not all of them had the splinters, and it might be good to find out which ones did.

well, we know the first one (the one Amaranthe alerted the daily murder people to) had splinters, but more than that, I don't know.

btw I'm jumping on this one too (if that's alright)

I'd like in on this one, too. So far, I've only read about the one murder -of Amaranthe's neighbor. Has there been reference to another one that I have completely missed?

Yeah, this may or may not matter, But this forum is now IG. Shocked

Uh, it DOES matter big time. Unfiction TOS are very specific. The area is OOG. PMs can read the forum to judge how their game is going or if their players are heading down the red herring path. But they are not suppose to use any information posted on the forum that is the discussion between players. Because no character is suppose to know this place exists. If a character responds to something in this forum, a player had better be the source of that information.

I want to respond to this because it's a misunderstanding that gets brought up a lot. Yes, Unfiction is always Out Of Game, which means characters and PMs and stuff can't come here and post. But there is absolutely nothing in the Terms of Service that prohibits puppetmasters from using information in-game that is publicly available on uF. We have very little authority over people's actions elsewhere and we should not claim to have.

That said, it has proven on many occasions to be a very poor design decision on the part of PMs.

Welcome

To all the new recruits, Welcome. There was an earlier post by Chronus regarding a chat he had with Alucard. In that chat Alucard stated there could be as many as 9 murders. For those of you interested, There is an IG chatroom at #dailymurder

Glad you said that last line otherwise I'd want to smack ye Wink

To clarify even further, if a PM uses OOG information overtly IG, then it aids to tearing down the concept of TINAG... how would the characters have found the information they apparently so suddenly received, when it supposedly came from a non-existent source, in the ARG's universe?
Now when it comes to gameplay mechanics that puppetmasters could learn from players and somehow incorporate into how they're running the ARG to make it a better experience, that's different... but when it's information, or actions related to ingame elements, it's "good form" for the PMs to let that come out from the players in the "in-game" realm, which does not include UF.

That said, again, nothing is stopping the PMs from doing that. It's just bad form, for lack of a better term, in maintaining the fictional reality of the ARG. =)

There's also the possibility that more have already been killed as we speak.
In IRC, long after I had spoken with Alucard, one of them (either Alucard or Rabbit) said that the killer/s have already stricken again.

Well, Alucard was fighting with these guys, so that's what the noise was. I don't even know if he's safe.
