FWIW, my reply, after a quick search, appears to be different from the others. It's here: http://11808.blogspot.com/2007/10/this-slusho-distribution-email-reply-is.html

First off, reaching back to the discussion about flavor being more smell than taste, here's something to really bend your mind a bit about how we sense flavor.
Our sense of taste is hard wired. The very few defined things we can taste illicit the same responses, without learning anything. We thus all know what salt, sugar, and the like taste like in the exact same way, and our bodies know based on our physiological needs what mixture tastes 'good' to us.
Smell, however, is almost entirely learned. We associate a smell being good or bad based on other stimuli. This is a key reason why people from one culture find things appetizing whilst those from other cultures do not. If you are exposed to a smell and your tastebuds aren't given a combination of the known flavors that is objectionable, that smell would be associated with a flavor that's good. If, for example, you were fed chocolate cake but were only able to smell manure, you'd associate the two and manure to you would smell like chocolate cake. I myself can attest to the peculiar nature of smell association - unless it's very intense, I find the smell of skunks to be pleasant. I grew up in an area that had a LOT of them around, and smelled them a lot as I walked the woods and fields.

Next, these responses from Slusho about confirming your bona fide business...
It's not hard to validate your articles of incorporation. If Paramount, Bad Robot, JJ Abrams, et al wish to conduct both a game of sorts AND a real business venture then this is how to sort he players from the partners. They could treat ALL replies as useful. How much easier and cheaper do you think it might be to work with independent stores and small chains to distribute what is probably a short term promotional product? If the deal is you have to buy a machine, it's not hard to rebrand a basic frozen drink machine with some different panels. If they partially defray the cost of a machine, those businesses could have an easy way into marketing such frozen drinks independently after the promotion is over. Of course the fake 'companies' would get into a game, and probably end up with shirts or cups or whatever swag.

does anybody find it weird that a company that sells frozen beverages is starting a marketing campaign in the winter? IMO, it seems more logical to do so in the late spring, so that distributors will have it ready at the start of the summer.
Kinda ties into the whole "unusually warm January" thing, eh?

Actually, as a result of drinking a Banana Anime Slusho... er... Banana Fanta Slurpee I contemplated the potential of them rebranding as Slusho for a promotion. I visited the Slurpee website, and amongst other odd facts about it is that the city that drinks the most Slurpees is Winnipeg, Canada - not exactly tropical. Yes, it sells best in June, July, and August - but it's October and I can't get enough of Banana Anime... er... you know what I mean.

(Sorry for the novel, much catching up to do.)

not saying you should. Their request for distributors might be real, but for those tempted, go ahead.

I seriously doubt it's real... The people here that do reply with real companies probably wouldn't be able to do adequate distribution anyway and they know that. If distirbution is what they wanted they'd be contacting the heavy hitters, and certainly not through a fictional site or email address.

Now, if I get an email from Paramount asking for information regarding distribution possibilities, that's a whole other matter... *hint, hint!*

That just happened a minute ago to me as well, but I was heading back to the "home" page.

Eliwein, nice cap. What browser are you using?

If you're using a Mac, you got to have grab open. Like Eliwein does.

If you're using Windows, hit the [print screen] button, and then open paint (or any other image creation program) and hit [ctrl] + v.
