PUZZLE: Possibly from Mos? (5/24)

This was just posted on IU. If it was Mos, then perhaps he feels we don't have enough puzzles to solve? Smile

Oh, and too bad those Data Tags don't do any good if this is posted to a non-existant site. Wink

Not sure what this is, but can't think it is anything special. I believe the comes from our first fired employee LJoyce. The email it cam from was sommeSPLATomniscienteyes.com. Mos was a known nick name for LJoyce. The lettering is similar. This might be nothing at all. More than likely a distraction for us to break our minds on, and lead us no where, but feel it is my responsibility to share it here anyhow. Maybe you can figure something out.

The lower case letters in the text spell out 'hello'. As I'm not too good in the code-cracking department (heh, now there's an understatement Wink) I'd like to point out that this might just be a thing to draw our attention and keep us occupied, i.e. maybe it's a fake code/prank Smile

My lunch consisted of working on this and eating Smile

Couple of letters (the obvious ones):

AE = E
AZ = T
XY = A
CV = H

I think...

If that was the case, there wasnt a single "the" at least in the first four lines of text, so I dont think this is correct... but its a good beginning Smile

Don't know if this is right, since I'm horrible at puzzles, but the two character cipher is called a digraph cipher andhere is a site. Nothing makes sense in this puzzle if this is the correct one to use.

For example, the first line would be:

Cipher text - XY IU CB DY AE LO AZ AE CH CV KL PZ AZ PZ NV AE
Plain text - MH VM PF QI NC YS NH NC PZ PL XV CH NH CH AL NC

So maybe we are just supposed to see the "hello". And are to take Marcus's warning of "Don't look at this too long I don't think it will take us very far."

*Edit - I like route Muffin is taking, so I'll shut up. Wink

Maybe I should post part of the headers here, as they contain some extra information, that information being the people the mail was addressed to (blanked out a little to prevent spamming) and the subject line:

Code:

To: "Marcus Thesburg" <mthesburg@idelt*ch.***>,

Can someone clean this up - I have to leave soon and I want you to all see this before I do!

I think some (small bit) of it is still wrong, but am short of time...

My first solve!

Well done!! Can you perhaps post the text here form the Excel sheet? I can clean it up for you if you want, but it saves me typing over the whole thing.
