This topic came up in the #unfiction room so I thought I may as well post it here. We will see if I have any ability to forsee a plot or not. Smile

I think that TOBI will become self-aware, as other people have suggested, including Thad in a chat with me. No one has followed up on this as a possibility with Alecia or Marcus as far as I know.

Of course, I know that I am the only one who perceives that Thad and the Restorers are a "side." But we are and we will play a bigger role in the game. Only when TOBI becomes more active will the need for the Restorers be relevant.

I think that TOBI will eventually become a threat to all groups equally.

The primary point of the groups now, in the pre-game and possibly into the game, is to show the need for groups with different and conflicting agendas to work to stop TOBI. (Although other people feel that it is to divide us into two groups fighting for control of TOBI.)

So I think we may end up working more cooperatively then we have been.

Also, I would add that the main reason IU boards were created was to allow the characters and PMs to interact with players in ways that are not allowed here. And, for the players to feel safe posting information. I know people are still wary of any "cheating" that could occur if they posted here on unfiction. It is not clear to me that they are needed for the story to be told.

Of course I could be all wrong. Laughing

 		I've talked about this in chat a couple of times too, and basically your thinking is exactly what my spec is too. That's why I'm not going to join Alecia (despite Mos' great sales pitch Wink ). My feelings are that, if it's not about TOBI becoming self-aware, the other likely possibility is whomever the government contract is with will begin to use TOBI in an unethical manner. Either way the best place to be is at Ideltech. Alecia's motive will be to keep the money rolling in, no matter who gets hurt. And I still have suspicions about Thad's real motivations, but either way he'll have a hard time getting into Ideltech to shut down TOBI.

 		I IM'd Marcus on Friday asking him about rumours of a quasi-autonomous version of TOBI being under development.

His reply was, 'LOL, Just say Palser LOL' , so I think we can safely knock TOBI2 on the head

Unless he means, Palser is the quasi-autonomous version of TOBI Shocked Shocked Shocked Very Happy

Not a second version, this version becoming self-aware and not controlled by any one. Doesn't the Ideltech website mention TOBI needing to be broken up into parts so as to not violate privacy laws? And about TOBI teaching itself things as well as making independent communication about things? I think that is under the news section of the website.
