I got an mp3 from None today. I don't think the voice needs to be reversed, but I'm not an audio guy, so one of you audio whizzes should take a listen.

The BG audio is backward, the voice is not.

I couldn't make out much at first, except the part "Stop trying to hide."

Electronic voices freak me the hell out, though, so I'ma gonna hold off on listening to that puppy again until later.

I agree, Furikku. I think it says 'Stop trying to hide what you are'. I also hear the phrase 'return what you...' and 'seek her'. I'm super bad at translating audio stuff though. So someone else should listen and see what they think.

Macavity, the email you received was from White Rabbit. That's the email address for her, the Mr. Fibonacci thing was just a clue to the latest cipher.

Yah, I just figured that out a little while ago. Embarassed I blame my bloody job - 12-hour shifts really wreak havoc on ye braine.

But I did hear back from White Rabbit!

I will figure it out though!

The love of my "life" just ran away, though...

I wrote back (in character - I'm "Security Officer Walker" to these people) expressing puzzlement, asking a few querstions, and suggesting lines of inquiry.

I thought this would help. I decided to do some research on the books in the Twilight series and the characters that appear in them. I wrote a plot summary for myself and thought I might as well post it here. It doesn't include everything in the books, just what concerns Bella:

There's a teenage girl named Bella who falls in love with a vampire named Edward Cullen. Bella also has a very close friend named Jacob, who is a werewolf. They all live in Forks, Washington. Along comes James, a really evil vampire who likes to hunt humans - particularly humans who are loved by other vampires. He tries to kill Bella, but is killed himself by the Cullen family before he can do so. James' mate, Victoria, then seeks revenge on the Cullens and especially Bella. Victoria starts her own coven in Seattle, where she starts killing people to build up her numbers. Edward gets wind of this and fears for Bella, as does her werewolf friend Jacob. Jacob and his pack and the Cullens all hunt Victoria, but she escapes. Bella deduces that Victoria is forming her own coven in Seattle and is responsible for the killings there. The Cullens join up with the werewolves to hunt and kill the new coven of vampires. There's a large battle during which Edward kills Victoria.

Now, as far as the love story portion of these books go, from what I can gather:

Edward and Jacob both love Bella and she loves both of them. However, Edward is the love of her life. She wants Edward to make her a vampire, and he agrees to if she marries him. Edward and Jacob have an ongoing tug of war with Bella in the middle. She eventually chooses Edward.

That's where the series leaves off. It's not really clear that she will positively end up with Edward, as they aren't married yet. And as far as I know, at the end of the latest book, she's still a human. If someone reading this has read these books, and wants to correct me on any of this, please do so, as I was completely unfamiliar with them until lastnight.

Just heard from WR again, regarding the lines of inquiry I suggested:

White Rabbit wrote:

I don't know....

I wrote back to her, noting that this is going to make things difficult (and asking if she'd at least be able to give us a description of the guy - which might come in handy).

I'm also planning to drop her a line and ask her to let me know if she comes across anything - anything at all - that might be a lead.

Oh, well. So much for this game.

(And it looked like so much fun, too. Anyone up for a round or two of Battle Dawn or Desktop Armada?)
